The richly decorated gowns worn by wealthy Georgian women were often adorned with an "eschelle stomacher" (a fancy corset designed to be worn in public and adorned with bows of decreasing size) above the waistline and an embroidered and trimmed petticoat below.
Renaissance Clothing Renaissance was known as the “Golden Age” and also for its exquisite clothing. Men, women, and children wore clothing which was made out of silk, brocade, velvet, and cotton. Clothing had a significant societal importance because people could tell by your clothing if you were from the upper class or the lower class. Many people in hard times would pawn their clothes, even kings and queens were known to have pawned their clothes. In the Renaissance upper class women were known for wearing five pieces of clothing which were skirt, underskirt, bodice, underbodice, or vest, hoop and collar.
First, she is not as beautiful as her sister Ismene, and yet there is a sense of elegance about this look. In my production, however, I would choose to not tie at the mid-calf simply because the dress would be more flowly and have a more feminine touch at the end. I do prefer the drapery to go somewhat over the head, as in the image, simply because it gives a more innocent approach to a character. I do like how everything is covered head to toe on Antigone, and overall, I think that having a lot of drapery is the best way to depict Antigone’s character. 2) Ismene http://www.theoi.com/Gallery/O19.2.html This image portrays Ismene in a different light than as she would appear in Antigone, to me at least.

With this job I really enjoyed being able to dress the mannequins, before any customers came into the store. I had to give them a sense of style to sell and advertise clothing in my section of the store. In Forever 21 all the rooms in the store have different themes. I particularly worked in the plus size section of the store, so I had to put all those themes inside of one room. I adored being able to pick the clothes I liked for the mannequin and choosing accessories, purses etc.

The young socialites were known to wear pieces that showed their fashion sense and wealth. Daisy and Jordan for example wore “Shawls beyond the dreams of Castile” (Fitzgerald p.36). The rich and stylish young women were even seen “bobbing” their hair (cut short) and raising their hemlines. The Jazz Age empowered many women. The music and everything it brought along with it seemingly “freed” many people from the previous social
