2 Sam Rollins was the man that Kurt went to for guidance and mentor him about the field. Sam was very familiar about the industrial safety field because of his background in the field. Kurt was in great hands into learning about safety tips and using them as tools into making him a great safety manager. The safety tips that Mr. Rollins were giving him were things that Kurt knew about but did not take into consideration since he was not a safety manager. The important facts about the Safety 24/7 book were the safety tips that Sam Rollins were giving throughout the book.
This is shown though his opening lines when he refers to Darryl as” Dad is the backbone of the Kerrigan family”. Another quote he makes is “Dad also had a way of making everyone feel important”. We see Dale without doubt, loves his dad. Steve, the second oldest son, seeks his father’s approval constantly and is always trying to help his dad with reading the trading posts, hunting for good deals and trades. This shows somewhat of his appreciation of his father and being able to connect with his dad on some level, when he asks his father’s opinion about the price being charged.
The most prominent character quality of Ralph’s life was that he was generous; he loved to help build and help his family move along even when he was just 9 years old. He was also an eager learner and because of this he learned many useful talents such as how to ride a horse and how to shoot. (pg.222) he could also be very sneaky and deceitful at times as well (see pg. 154) but for most of this period in his life he was honest and felt bad when he did something wrong. Another good character trait was that he was extremely ambitious usually he would pick out tasks that carried a significant amount of weight sometimes even he could not complete them.
The daughters disagree and believe divorce is ok. The Mothers belief stems from old Chinese culture while the daughters belief stems from American culture where divorces are very common. Another chinese belief the mothers believe that every women should be married. That conflicts with the american belief that a woman is not required to get married, this creates conflict among the daughters. She believes that her mother’s constant criticism bespeaks a lack of affection, when in fact her mother’s severity and high expectations are expressions of love and faith in her daughter.

Notable Aspects Family is the one thing she speaks on with a serious look on her face. When she spoke on her upbringing, there was always an example of her mother or kids. It was very surprising that she could remember things so vividly that took place in the 1940’s. There were no pauses or forgetful moments when she spoke on her pre-teen and teenage years. She was very forthcoming and confident when she spoke on any aspect of her upbringing.

She has wants like any other human but, lacks the power to convey her thoughts and feelings. Though she is quiet her personality is very much influenced by the world around her.
