The product I choose is King’s syrup. In 1905 King’s syrup was developed in Baltimore Maryland and used throughout the Mid Atlantic for years, in which it was the number one syrup. There are several purposes the syrup is used for which is baking, pancakes and waffles. I remember growing up eating pancakes for breakfast umm the smell of Sunday morning breakfast before church. My mother would cook for myself, my dad and my siblings on some weekends.
In the sixth grade, when I was eleven years old, every Sunday my mother started taking my sister and me to Holy Name Catholic Church. There, after a couple of months, we had our first holy communion. I hardly paid any attention to the study. I remember my mom told me, “If you stop attending church for your confirmation

The holiday of Thanksgiving, although celebrated yearly in my family, has been incredibly inconsistent throughout my life. All other major holidays, such as Christmas, Easter and The Fourth of July, have been held in the same place for as long as I can remember. Both sides of my family celebrate Christmas at my house every year. My family always goes to my Aunt Ellen’s house for Easter and to Lake Geneva for the Fourth of July. These are just some of the many traditions that my family hold, but one that we do not is the location of Thanksgiving dinner.
2/17/14 Pd.4 Writing and speech Cookie Dough Lately at Knoch, the students have been selling cookie dough to raise money for prom. We need to raise about $20,000 to cover all of the expenses. My best friend Riley and I are participating in this fundraiser. Our goal is to sell ten tubs of cookie dough before February 18th to ensure that we have a great prom. Sounds easy enough, but we needed customers and fast.
I was born into this world July 7th, 1995, I didn’t get to choose the family I’d be put into, but I can now say I was put into the best possible family. My first memory of growing up was on a Sunday Afternoon, it happened to also have been my 4th birthday. If you’re Italian, you will definitely know what Sunday lunch is at Nonna’s house and if you’re Italian you know that birthdays are important. I guess this is why I remember this day quite well. Walking into Nonna’s house smelling homemade sugo(pasta sauce) being dumped onto the fresh pasta she had probably made that very day was the best!
Every year I was involved in Dream Makers where we bought toys for underprivileged kids during Christmas. During Thanksgiving I collected and sorted food for Food for Families. The biggest event that most of the community was involved in would have been Relay for Life; everyone would join together as a community and volunteer. Here at Texas A&M I am not currently involved. I am researching organizations that I would like to join next semester and plan on joining at least
Independent Novel Project The Color of Water Author- James McBride Significance of the Title During the chapter the New Testament, Ruth and James are having a conversation one Sunday afternoon when church let out, and she wants to know what color God is. James responded with, “He’s not black or white; he’s the color of water.” I think that throughout the entire book as your reading from this chapter on, James wants everyone to remember this conversation that he had with Ruth so it can show parables about the racist side of the book The Setting The setting in The Color of Water, started with his mother Ruth McBride, she was born in Poland in 1921. Her family could not make a living in Poland, so they moved to Suffolk Virginia, and she
“Wake up, Jay” My mother called on a Monday morning, “time for school.” “Oh great” I thought, “3 miles there, 3 miles back.” I went to Armrail Elementary School with my brother and sisters. Not a lot of kids went to school back then. When we get home from school, we help out in the garden. We grew potatoes, tomatoes, okra, and corn. We also raised chickens for eggs and chicken.
On Saturdays we would have game night or visit my grandparents and spend time at their house. I’m so excited for our family vacation this summer because where going camping and spending time on the outdoors. My sister and I never been camping before so it would be our first time. My mom just got back from work and was going to make dinner but there wasn’t any food in the refrigerator. We drove to "Mom & Pop" Grocery Store to buy some food for dinner.
