Fairgrounds Complex There are many interesting places to visit in Jackson, Mississippi. One very interesting place is The Fairgrounds Complex. It covers more than one hundred acres, and is host to over seven hundred events each year. The Complex is located in beautiful downtown Jackson. It is one of the South’s most inviting locations for any attractions or events The main and most versatile attraction that visits the complex every year on the first Wednesday of October is the Mississippi State Fair. The fair last for twelve days and has something to offer everyone from children to senior citizens. It is one of the South’s biggest fairs. It had over six thousand and fifty people attend its 2010 run. Some of the main attractions at the fair are the rides, the mile long midway, free entertainment, and livestock shows. As you walk down the mile long midway you can find food that would satisfy anyone. You could also take a ride on the sky lift to, and see all the fair has to offer. There are several rides for everyone from toddlers to any adult who is seeking a thrill ride. However, the Ferris wheel is one of the most popular rides. Like the sky lift it raises you above the thrills and excitements on the grounds and gives you a bird’s eye view of not only the fairgrounds but the surrounding area also. There are plenty of offerings for the agriculture enthusiast as well. Pig races are popular for people of all ages. For the curious children there is a petting zoo, a barnyard, and even a pony ride. Although there are plenty of offering for the children, there is no shortage of agriculture attractions for the adults. The adults are entertained by the antique tractor pulls or the horse and mull pulls. Also within the Fairgrounds Complex there are building which host numerous events yearly.
