Factors influencing the choice of job Nowadays, having a good job is always the dream of many people. Some try many ways in order to obtain this, but some just can’t do it because they don’t know how to make a decision. The choice of job has to depend on many things. There are four main factors that affect people’s choice of job: personality and education, physical environment, promotion, and good wages. First and foremost, personality and education are always the priority. It can’t be denied that one’s character is one of the biggest concerns when choosing a job. People are likely to pick up a job for which they have a passion. A love for one’s job can be a strong motivation, especially when working under great pressure or facing problems. Moreover, a person’s education is also considered when determining one’s career. With proper training, people would be able to do the job better, not only because they have the required background knowledge, but also for they feel more confident. Secondly, physical environment is said to be one of the most things that have an effect on the choice of job. If one is given a job with a good physical environment, he will take it with no hesitation. The definition of physical environment is simply the physical characteristics of the room. This refers to things like the size of the room, how dark or light it is, what the temperature is like, whether it has carpeting or just concrete, etc. The major importance of the physical environment is that it can affect worker's comfort and, to some extent, their ability to work. Those who are uncomfortable are unlikely to work as well as those who are comfortable. In addition, the environment can affect the morale of workers. If they feel their room is physically worse than those of the other, for example, they might be discouraged and upset and less willing to work.
