Facebook Bane or Boon In the name of Allah the most compassionate and the most merciful. Mr. President, respected teachers and fellow students, asllam alikum, nasmaste, konichiva and bonjur! I Haseeb Satti have a unique honor and privilege to speak about Facebook today. I really appreciate those people who chose this topic for today’s debate. Facebook is most popular social networking site, just as fact there are 350 million active viewers on Facebook. The functions of Facebook are to allow user to share things to people who they know, like people can share there ideas, activities, events and interests. Like this joke: What do you call a woman in heaven? An Angel. A crowd of woman in heaven? A host of Angels. And all woman in heaven? PEACE ON EARTH! Or like this joke: Everybody thinks every girl's dream is to find the perfect guy... pshhh; every girl's dream is to eat without getting fat! Since 2004 when Facebook was made Facebook has since become the largest social networking site and over 8,000 online workers are making it better. But today we debate that if Facebook is a boon meaning blessing or bane meaning curse or misery. At this point Edward .G said “A fool flatters himself while a wise man flatters a fool”. Mr. President scientists are researching to use social networks like Facebook for sharing scientific knowledge, educationist are looking how to use Facebook for spreading knowledge, also employment and services sectors are efficiently using Facebook to there advantage. Not only this but a Facebook post in 2007 lead to a kidney donation. Mr. President, we know and acknowledge that there are privacy, access to information, risk for child safety, online bulling and addictive issues but as I told you over 8,000 online workers work day and night to make Facebook a safe social network.
