Across America, majority of people do not comply with recommendations regarding intakes of energy, sodium, fruits, saturated fat, and vegetables. The extent to which food is available determines the eating habits. Because food availability depends on an individual’s capacity to buy or produce the food, financial power will determine what kinds of foods one can get; therefore, the rich will access most of the foods as the poor struggle to them or lack them after all.
What institutions did the Immigration Committee seem most concerned about? The committee was obviously most worried about the factory and mining industry, they stated repeatedly how the Chinese would work too cheap compared to what the “white men” could live on. They were worried about the Chinese being unclean and working in our food services and also contaminating the cities. Why does the report mention the “vegetable” diets of the Chinese? They state this to try to show how the Chinese refuse to assimilate.
America began on small businesses and America has to continue to have small businesses to have a good economy. Wal-Mart endangers businesses all over the country because small businesses cannot compete with the superpower on account of Wal-Mart getting goods from places like China. Most people live within thirty minutes of a Wal-Mart and with their lower prices people will continue to shop there without realizing what they are doing to their own economy. Most people don’t realize that saving a few dollars by shopping at Wal-Mart is crippling all the local businesses around their area. Wal-Mart does not care about the American economy because they are thriving the way the economy is now, so American citizens have to stand up for their communities.
It is important to think about the factors to which the workers were subject to under both the Tsars and the Communists. The conditions of the working class, their economic stance, political right and repression are all aspects that need to be considered in order to determine where the workers suffered most. Socially, the workers suffered bad working and living conditions under the communists. Living space by 1935 decreased from 8.5m² in 1905 to 5.8m² per person. The worker’s eating habits also became considerably worse, eating a fifth of the total amount of meat eaten in 1905.
David starts by teasing these overweight individuals that are bring a lawsuit against McDonalds, but then later admits that he used to be overweight as a child and was able to change his life around. He made a point to show health concerns with being obese and eating fast food regularly, such as type two diabetes which has risen about twenty-five percent since 1994. This raise in diabetes also requires much funding for the United States to spend to try to find a cure. David explains how there is very few alternatives for the youth of America because those health alternatives are more expensive and harder to find. False advertising is also another unpleasant practice that fast food companies use to lure in costumers.
America and China have political, sociological, and psychological factors that influence their opinions of healthcare and it’s disparities in relationship to the country’s economy. When I took my SOC 499 class on health disparities the biggest challenge of the class was trying to figure out whom to blame for these health disparities in the American healthcare system. Majority of my classmates felt that the physicians were to blame because of their lack of background on each of their patients. A few thought it was the government’s fault because they were not providing healthcare insurance to the people of the low-income community. Then there was a question of it possibly being the individual’s fault for poor health, since America is an individualized
The more a certain food is processed, the more mal nourished it becomes and, in turn, the more unhealthy it is. The problem with the American population is our eating habits have become accustom to these fatty, salty, and sugary items and it is why we crave and enjoy them. From the farm to the grocery store, the processing of food diminishes its nutritional value to nothing, sabotaging the American diet so far in diet related disease and obesity, our nation has become a slave to chemically altered foods.
This alludes that disease spread as he food was unable to cook properly and therefore people may have caught disease from food poisoning. This supports source Y as it about the rapid growth of diseases with it saying there were “twenty two cases of sickness this morning”. With the amount of British troops already lacking in number, with this amount of sicknesses possibly happening daily, it would undoubtedly decrease the amount of firepower to the army which would prevent them from making any great strides in the war. However although sources X and Y both support each other, it can only be to an extent as they both talk about different causes which may mean that the two authors may have had different viewpoints and therefore may not agree completely. Both these sources, do however challenge source W a great deal as both counter argue, pretty much everything source W is saying and with sources X and Y both coming from people actually experiencing the conditions and having less of a reason to lie, you would have to say that they are more reliable sources than source W as it is more than likely that the newspaper article is more trying to ease the worry of those back home rather than telling the full truth of what is going on, partly maybe due to the ban on reporting any of the action which may also have

In the documentary they showed an example of a family that cant afford healthy food because the price of this foods are too expensive for them to buy with their budget. The father of this family was already having health problems because he was taking medicine for his diabetes he had acquired from eating junk food. Many Americans are suffering from overweight problems because instead of consuming healthy calories they are doing the opposite. In another part of the documentary it showed, how immigrants that are working for these companies were being hunted down by immigration in their own houses. The bad part is that both the meat packaging companies and immigration knew that this people were illegals, but they still kept hiring them and letting them work for a while in there companies.
