Avid because it would help me in preparing for college as well as helping me with skills I can use throughout my middle school and high school years. I would like to have a second chance to get it right because I don’t think I realized how much I needed this opportunity and how beneficial it is for me. I didn’t do everything exactly right when it came to school and the Avid program but I know that I can. The reason I like avid is because I enjoyed a lot of the activities like getting to play philosophical chairs. Another reason why I want to be in Avid is because you get to go on trips that are beneficial to life and future endevors.
Recreation? NANCY C. RODRIGUEZ Why extracurricular activities give you “extra credit” toward success Find something you like and get involved. But remember, school and grades come first. That’s what students have to say about participating in extracurricular activities. High school isn’t just about going to classes, then heading home.
I know that you, as a young person, want to experience things for yourself. If you live long enough, you will have plenty of time to experience these things that seem pleasing to the eye. Also, having goals and motivation is another piece of advice I would like to share with you. To have goals means you have a set plan to follow and you are trying to follow and achieve them. As a freshman, you might set a goal to just make it to the next grade.
Some transitions are physical such as moving home, starting a new school or they may be emotional such as bereavement, parents divorce, new family. Transition | All children or only some? | Possible effects on the child's development | Starting school/ changing schools | All | All transitions are important moving into school is one of the first major transitions a child will make. When supporting children with this transition we should be aware and sympathetic of the childs needs. The child may feel anxious, nervous, upset or confused but given the right support they be feel content, excited or proud and this can give their self esteem a boost.
* Schools are more cost-effective per student by the efficient use of the facility, textbooks, and supplies. * Many students and teachers report that more frequent breaks allow them to return to school more refreshed and with greater energy and improved morale. * Some school districts report vandalism, discipline referrals and absenteeism for students, as well as teachers, has been reduced because of the year-round schedule. * How does a year round school work? * Students in a year-round school are divided into multiple tracks with each track having a different starting and ending date.
A wide range of students often struggles to make academic and/or social progress and will require the supports or accommodations provided with inclusive programs. According to the evidence available, all children are said to benefit from the inclusive education program. Inclusion is beneficial for many reasons. It allows the students to develop newly established strengths with appropriate expectations for each of the students. The students also become able to work on individual goals while also participating in the classroom community with their peers.
I myself think that it helps for students’ motivation and confidence. The question is what kind of praising we should use. Should we emphases on their intelligence or the efforts they put in work? Believe it or not, this can affect their performance in school. I really like the idea of the author that there are two kinds of mind-set: fixed mind-set and growth mind-set.
Emotional endurance, while easier for older children to grasp, is a trait that can be learned by everyone involved. Just as children learn that eventually school will be over and summer will come, they will learn to understand and accept that the hurt and confusion that comes with divorce will not last forever and things will get better. A blended family can help to speed this process by putting the children back into a functional, loving two-parent family. Adaptability, flexibility, and creativity are also skills that can be learned by children of blended families. These skills will be very useful as children grow and develop in their personal and professional lives.
On the other hand, some argue that incentives dramatically change the way students perceive their education. In the Los Angeles Times article “They Earn As They Learn” Lisa Cullen says, “She saw a definite increase in students’ excitement, enthusiasm and effort. Kids will express these characteristics when they see an opportunity for a reward. Students know the value of money, and they also know what money can buy, therefore they wouldn’t mind attempting to learn in school. Though they may be focused on the incentives, the knowledge they are taught is still being exposed to them.
So in this case a person might work very hard to develop strategies to be successful in spite of these challenges. Learning is very important in our life and rewards us in numerous of different ways and it is the key in our future. Only a individual can learnt and can be educate to understand how important is to learning new skills. On the other hand if you are a educated person you could also support people around you to encourage them to get education like you. I am going to look at a certain group to create an appropriate evaluation.
