I am so very excited to see them excel in school. My little Evie is three and all she talks about is school, how she cannot wait to go and truthfully I can’t wait for her to go either. You see, once my girls are in school I will be able to go back to work and have adult conversations on a regular basis again. My days of changing dirty diapers, potty training, and watching cartoons all day will be behind me. Then I read the part of Welty’s story where Phoenix has to cross the creek and she said “Now comes the trial”.
The word choice used in this commercial is specifically aimed to pull at the heart strings of parents. In the middle of the commercial the narrator begins to throw out words that correlate to the scene that is taking place. Words such as “smile”, “connection”, “confident glow”, and even a simple “thanks mom”, are used to depict everyday occasions that are made possible through the purchase of the right pair of shoe. The words may to seem to be that strong but it’s something every parent wants from or to share with their own kids. At this point, the parent or viewer almost feels obligated to buy the right pair of shoes for their children so they too can experience the subtle yet memorable moment.
The sales person will call up to put on hold for 24 hours the shoe with the correct size. On top of this, the sales lady will even give the customer a computer-generated coupon of $3 dollars to be used by the customer when the shoe is picked up. All these are for the satisfaction of customers. This is what transpired in a Payless shoe store environment everyday. Sales persons are busy offering the customers different kinds of shoes.

She compliments me when I get dressed and she always asks me to go places with her, which I love, but I would have loved it more if she would have been satisfied with how I preferred to dress
These women would spend all hours of the day cleaning the house, washing the dishes, caring for the children, gardening, and many other things. As if this job wasn’t tiring enough, they suffered more abuse in the community. In relation to the book, Mayella Ewell is a perfect fit for this role. As Scout was walking past the Ewell’s house, she noted, “Against the fence, in a line, were six chipped-enamel slop jars holding brilliant red geraniums, cared for as tenderly as if they belonged to Ms. Maudie
Comparison Katniss is a strong, unselfish, and independent young woman who is a heroine in the story. I see a lot of similarities between us two because I myself have had to grow up faster than planned. From a very young age, I was always stuck home to care for my brother while my mom went to work to support us. In the book, Katniss is a young lady who takes care of her mom, her sister and their family cat because her dad died in an underground mine explosion. I find her strong because she takes responsibility for hunting the food for supper and making sure her family has all their needs.
