This physical journey in the country acts as a temporary escape from reality. In this poem, Skrzynecki also reminds the responder of the physical journey as an escape from the tedium of ordinary existence but the natural beauty of the place does not separate the poet’s discontentment from the thoughts of his usual life. The poem has a relatively regular stanza structure- 7/8 line stanza but the last two are shorter. Free verse but some implied rhyme (shed, wind, hands) created through assonance and alliteration. The poem has rhythm of conversational speech and assonance and alliteration (e.g.
He compares her to nature and describes her as soft. He believes that she is the most beautiful thing on Earth. Structure: How is the poem organized (lines, stanzas, etc.)? What is unique or interesting about the structure of the poem? Does the poem rhyme?
Steinbeck gives off a relaxing feel as he generates everything as quiet and beautiful. “Rabbits come out of the brush to sit on the sand in the evening”. Watching this view would be beautiful, romantic and relaxing making the atmosphere as good as it can be, as if you were in heaven. Throughout Steinbeck’s passage he uses many verbs, adverbs and adjectives. These all encourage the
John Steinbeck uses animal imagery to express and introduce characters, events and themes in 'Of Mice and Men.' Steinbeck also uses nature, to convey events and settings in a subtle way. In section one of 'Of mice and Men' Steinbeck uses various colours to help the reader visualise the clearing as a tranquil and peaceful place. By describing the Salinas River as 'deep and green' the reader instantly envisages the water to be refreshing, mysterious and untouched. In addition, Steinbeck suggests that the clearing is full of sunlight: 'The water is warm too, for it slipped twinkling over the yellow sands.'
Dandelions are also known to be happy flowers so this sets the mood in a more soothing and calming place. The poet also uses imagery to lighten the mood up. “And a jumble of skirts spilled onto the ploughed grass,” could be portrayed in a mental image of the clothes scattering around from the laundry truck. It makes the mood less tense because instead of rather describing the horrible images of the accident, the poet decides to describe the little details of it. There was also an internal rhyme in that line which was “skirts and shirts”.
Alliterations are very important to the author’s tone: “The hardest weather in the world is there. Winter brings blizzard, hot tornatic winds arise in the spring, and in summer the prairie is an anvil’s edge”. Here, the repetition of the letter “w” slows down the prose, giving a sense of delicacy in the author’s tone. Indeed, Momaday uses a lot of long and flowing sentences that are usually known to calm down the reader and describe beauty. The author takes the time to describe something that is generally pleasant to his eyes, giving a sense of serenity in his tone.
In Erich Maria Remarque’s book, All Quiet on the Western Front, nature appears as a means of projecting the mood of the book. There are many instances of nature that affect Paul and how he thinks of war and how both nature and war have changed him. In chapter one for example, the mood is placed by how nature is being described. The first chapter has descriptions about how the flowers and butterflies were so beautiful even if it was a war zone. "The grasses sway their tall spears; the white butterflies flutter around and float on the warm wind of the late summer."
In the beginning of the novel Cather use weather to describe that calmness that Burden was feeling after being in Nebraska for a little while. For example, Sitting in his grandmother's garden, Jim observes: "There in the sheltered draw-bottom the wind did not blow very hard, but I could hear it singing its humming tune up on the level, and I could see the tall grasses wave. The earth was warm under me, and warm as I crumbled it through my fingers" (Cather 42). Cather uses very relaxing,
Robert Mullner The soft focus of the photograph and the solidity colour of the rocks with the calm colours of the sunset intrigues me. I admire the fact usage of the mood that is being presented which is a calm mood. The significance this photograph has on me is how it is such a natural photo being made into a beautiful landscape photo Ozlay The digital composition of this photograph make the time being experienced seem vintage. The red tones in it create a feeling of summer and its festives. The disrupted focus is intriguing as it creates more creativity to the close-up shot of the Esky.

In addition, the beauty of it is very rewarding. The rolling hills, green pastures, and lawns with all the many different types and colors of flowers are so beautiful. The air is fresh and smells of fresh cut grass and hay. On warm evenings, you can enjoy the scenery with a barbeque and bonfire with your family and neighbors,
