Exercise 10-2: OJT Successfully after an employee has completed the interview process the next step is to begin an orientation and training process consuming of three business days. The training will not be a one-time obligation, yet to continue success in the company he or she will maintain consistent blocks of training periods throughout the years of employment within the company. The purpose of this training is to inform new employees about the operations, rules, and guidelines to follow within standards of the company. Day Two • Job functions and responsibilities. • Introduction to the department and fellow workers. • Professional customer service. • What makes valuable sales representatives. • Rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. • City, state, and federal laws. • Skill training. • Performance evaluation criteria. Day Three • Bonuses and promotional opportunities • Requirements of employment, punctuality, attendance, conduct, hours of works, overtime, and termination. • Pay procedures. • Benefits including insurance, personal days, holidays, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence. • Safety and fire prevention. • Personal policies. • Management functions. • Strategies for learning. • Team support.
