The cop said that the kid was a "super freak", and that's kind of what I thought of the soccer teams. They're super freaks. Despite the weather, the stubborness of a soccer ball, and the intense workout, they still stay motivated, have fun, and even encourage me to keep going. I never want to run up and down steps again. I don't even want to walk them.
My confidence was at an all time high! My father thought I needed a challenge, so he convinced me to try out for the High School Varsity team. Obviously, I was certain I would dominate. I had never been unsure about my ability. Tryouts began after school on a beautiful Monday afternoon.
I am a junior here at Oswego and I played volleyball last year for the 2010 season. I think it needs to be brought to the attention how some of us were treated during pre-season this year. Since we were given a new coach this season I went into tryout with an open mind and excited to be given a new opportunity to play volleyball. Since we were unaware that we needed to get physicals on our own, pre-season was moved to Friday. This gave me only 3 days to prove to coach that I deserve a spot on the roster.
I remember the first soccer game I ever played it was during the summer at a soccer complex. That game was the beginning to my success, winning that game has been one of the best feelings in my life I will never forget. That day I knew I had a big dream ahead of me and I knew it was something I needed for the rest of my life. As a kid I really did not have that much talent ,but as I practiced I increased my skills much faster than everyone else. Playing soccer has not only given me a love for the game, it has given me skills that I can use throughout my life.
Another reason soccer is my favorite sport is from all the memories I have from playing the game. All the years I have played, I have won many games but also lost many games as well. It was great if my team won the game but even if we lost,we still had fun. We all enjoyed getting to play together. An experience that I have had playing soccer I will always remember happened when I was in tenth grade.
Reid Lundeen Miss Streza English III September 19, 2013 David vs. Goliath On September 12th, 2013, Dana Hills Football had one of the best performances in the history of the school. The game was held at Dana Hills, against its hated rival, San Clemente. Dana Hills (0-2) on the season heads in to this game thinking, if they do not get a victory in this contest, their season could be downhill from here. Meanwhile, on the other side of the spectrum is San Clemente. San Clemente (2-0) on the season comes in to this game with a lot of emotion.
Their season was very strong, but it ended in a blaze. They had a hot streak going into the AAC tournament and came out champions. Now they have their sights set on the National Title. With a target on their back from winning the title last year, the Cards know all to well what is at stake. Their starting line up consists of two seniors, two juniors, and one sophomore, all who were part of the championship team last year.
She was my first best friend; I was so upset when she had to move. I joined a soccer team for the first time and realized it would be what I stuck with for years and then join the school team in high school. In middle school when a close friend, Daniel Dixon, passed away from a fatal car accident I thought I would never be the same. When I got put into the accelerated classes which would change my life forever because it would be put on my transcript and would allow me the chance to get into the very best schools in the state; when this happened Brandy Hamiter and Savannah Martoi became my best friends. Then in High School, a big group of people spent their whole week trying to beat the seniors at most school spirit.
We were the underdogs in this game. They were the best team in the county at the time, because they had a running back that nobody can hit, and they thought they could just run all over us. All that week during practice we were plotting to stop them. This game was an away game so after school that Wednesday we went to the locker room and I got prepared for the game, then we got all our stuff together and headed to the bus. On our way to the Henry County stadium, I was getting focused on the biggest game of my life.
But also my talent would enable me to be good at more than one event in track. At the end of my sophomore year, I took the decision to enter a new season with the determination to quit playing basketball and to be the best I could be on the track, so that I could get a scholarship for college. As one of the best coaches, in my eyes, Mr. Washington helped me become one of the fastest 100m through 400m runners in the state of California, by the end of my junior year in high school. I received a scholarship that would pay for all of my tuition and monthly bills while getting a college education. This is something that I wanted to happen in the sport of basketball, but Mr. Washington helped me see otherwise that my talent was meant for
