Biology Essay: Evaluate the value of Conservation Conservation is the management of the Earth's natural resources in such a way that maximum use of them can be made in the future. In terms of wildlife, it can be seen as the protection, management, or restoration of wildlife and of natural resources, such as forests, soil, and water. Conservation is becoming an increasingly important global issue as we develop and the areas we live in continue to grow. There is a case of Human-wildlife conflict becoming more common as human populations grow and seek to expand economies, whilst natural habits decline as a result. It can be argued there are both advantages and disadvantages to the process of conservation depending upon the situation and the needs of certain people. Planet Earth, at this point in time is the only habitable planet for us humans and our animal companions. This makes conservation one of the most important processes for us, as we need to maintain and look after the planet we live on for the future, the organisms on earth and for ourselves at this point in time. Conservation is a key issue, because if we are ignorant and do not think about the future and the resources we currently have access to, they may slowly diminish and cause greater problems for the future of mankind and animals and plants. Conservation of ecosystems and the habitats of animals and plants is important because we rely so heavily on their existence for so many aspects of life. One main example of an important ecosystem, are the tropical rain forests around the globe in areas such as the Amazon in South America. Topical rain forests balance the global ecosystem and human existence. They are unparalleled in terms of their biological diversity, because they not only play a role in regulating global weather, but sustain within themselves nearly half of the world's plants
