You gave everything you had and more to make us all as happy as possible, and now it is finally your turn. Your sacrifices did not go unnoticed. Your love is forever appreciated and valued more than you may ever know. I can only hope your reward is eternal happiness in Heaven with all those you cared so much for. Grandma, the greatest reward in my life is knowing you.
Pilate the Living Dead Pilate is arguably the protagonist of “Song of Solomon” by Toni Morrison; she is a woman unlike any other. Pilate is set apart throughout the book by a series of contrasts. She is smart, but uneducated. She is hard working but not successful. She was born without a mother.
She also had love until this day; she has been able to count on her family always. She was always taught to think the highest of her to never let anyone put her down no matter the situation. Thanks to that she become the woman she is today she knows she can do anything she put her mind to and climb as high as she wants
A woman lacking these virtues is severely looked down upon by society, and is considered a “fallen angel”. Mary Eliza Herbert advocates True Womanhood values in her story, “Light in the Darkness: A Sketch from Life.” She does so by presenting two women, Ms. Dormer and her daughter Blanche, whom each posses these four virtues, therefore representing idealistic women of the mid 1800’s. The first virtue of True Womanhood is piety or religion, which Welter describes as the core of women’s virtue, and the source of her strength (152). A woman who is religious, participates in church activity, and follows the bible is assumed to lead a happy, sensible life. Ms. Dormer has a strong pious virtue, as she has a strong relationship with God which gives her strength and hope, and believes that God will provide for her and her family even at the hard times when she is without a husband.
I never let any second pass without her knowing and feeling how much I love and appreciate her. I try my best to spend time with her and make her happy. Seeing her happy lifts up the burden that this event has given me. I know I can not blame anyone, not even God, and rather be thankful that He has given me one of the greatest gifts in life - a great mother. I believe she can and will survive through this, and I never fail to include her in my prayers.
I recall calling her in tears, not knowing what to do, feeling as if I was failing as a Mother. But she would always soothe me by saying, “You are a wonderful mom. Your son is just like you; he wants to do everything at his own pace. Have patience my child.” Her faith is like a rock; it will not be broken. With her help and the Lord’s, I have been able to learn how to forgive and let go of pain that had tied my heart down for many years.
In this paper I will discuss how she inspired me and in a moment I pulled myself together that I should fulfill my lifelong dream, make her prod and there is nothing that should stop me. I strongly believe that failure is not an option for me in life and I want to carry this message to my child as she grows. I am at a point in life where I look at my life and my future with a very serious and subjective point of view. I was lucky to marry my best friend, the love of my life and the most amazing man and we share a beautiful daughter. Being a mother has been truly a wakeup call and a sincere motivation to continue my education.
Everything she worked hard for was gone, her possessions, she owned and loved dearly gone. Job never lost faith in God after losing everything he worked for and loved. God gave him more than he lost for his actions, and he was grateful. Anne Bradstreet prayed to God, but she never cursed him. She knows that God will give her a better home in heaven, and that all she lost is no needed where she’s going.
ENGL113, Oral Communications Persuasive Speech Introduction: What is the meaning of life? What does every one of us want out of life? To sum it up I think that everyone will agree with me that it is simply, happiness. We just want to be happy. In all my trials of figuring out how I should live my life, what I believe in, and how to feel happy, time and time again without avail, this idea of helping others never fails to be the answer.
It is rightly said, "Winners never quit, and quitters never win" To conclude, Never giving up is the key to success in human life. If one gets a good support from his family, friends and has a faith in God and himself, things will
