Ethics: Reflection on Theories My personal code of ethics mostly closely matches this perspective Virtue Ethics. It matches this one most closely because I’m a virtuous person who would act given the situation. Although I found my virtue ethics to grow over the years of my lifetime; it was nurtured by my parents, myself and those who showed good character traits to possess as an individual. My character traits became to be full grown as it was caressed by love and nourished by life. I don’t want to gain favors from my own personal ethics. I simply want kindness applied with a nice gesture for example; a “thank you” would be to my satisfaction. Having nothing materialistic or gained in return doesn’t please me as much as receiving kindness gesture from giving a favor to someone in need. A real deed no matter the size is done when I see a smile or a sign of relief from a person in trouble or needs help in some way of form. I like to be a help to people and show them there are people out there in the world who do possess virtue code of ethics. Nonetheless, I do remain aware that no one will take advantage of my virtue code of ethics. If moral character is so reliant on luck, what role does this leave for appropriate praise and blame of the person? The ability to cultivate the right virtues will be affected by a number of different factors beyond a person’s control due to education, society, friends and family. "Virtues" are attitudes, dispositions, or character traits that enable us to be and to act in ways that develop this potential. They enable us to pursue the ideals we have adopted. My character traits that enabled me to be who I am today such as; honesty, courage, compassion, generosity, fidelity, integrity, fairness, self-control, and prudence are all examples of virtues. Ultimately, it comes down to this is my character and why I like to be this way. The
