So you are able to meet their personal needs. Teachers should make sure their learners will be safe physically. for example, making sure that the building meets the rules of health and safety: making sure the fire exits are easily accessible, making sure the structure is appropriate for the learners needs. Such as a ramp for a physically disabled learner. Also teachers need to make sure all the equipment the learners will be using during the course is safe for them to use.
To make sure that all employees are health and safety trained and keeps them all up to date with any changes. Only let employees that are trained to do certain jobs do so. Make sure all equipment is in full working order and maintenance checks are kept up to date. Supply any personal protective clothing as needed. Make sure that the work place is a safe environment to work in.
I will always do a fun warm up which helps break the ice. I need to be approachable at all times during the class and if necessary before and after. A learner needs to know that they can ask questions at the appropriate time in a class and get the answer they need either from me or on occasions, a fellow learner. This makes the class interactive. Inclusion of all students is important.
The main goal for me is to see my students improve and give all they can. I will put my older student in situations where they will learn the understanding of positions and game plans, know how to budget time effectively, and also maintaining a high level of concentration. I feel my role as a motivator is extremely important. I will ask my students only to work at the best of their abilities and, in return, I assist in creating a healthy balance between that of hard work and enjoyment. Socially, I want my students to interact and establish good relationships with individuals within their social environment as well as within the community.
I intend to train and guide my students in every aspect, even in other subjects. I persuade my students to perform excellently in anything they do. When there are upcoming tests or quizzes, I make sure that I tutor them beforehand. I engage them to let me know if there is something that they do not understand, and I also want them to support each other. I hope that my students use the skills that they learn in my classroom so I can help them progress their skills more.
* Barriers are recognised and staff has an understanding of individuals and groups that have any difficulties so they can find the best way to help them. * When children need extra support they still get taught alongside their peers so as not to make them feel segregated. * There are clear policies that are reviewed on a regular basis and all staff will receive regular training on inclusion, diversity and equality. * All staff should be open minded and non-judgemental * All children and young people should be given the same opportunities 3.3 Describe how inclusion works in own sector of the children’s
I will create this environment through an engaging curriculum, personable interaction, topic orientated discussions, and group work. Since my license will include an endorsement in Special Education my classroom management will include a focus on flexibility defined as the ability to respond to the moods, emotions and the capabilities of my students on any given day. Meeting the needs of my students, based on their individual need, will be a crucial part of my classroom management structure. I will accomplishment this by promoting self-management and self-efficacy in my students to the best of their abilities. Creating a predictable, consistent, and success-oriented environment will promote self-management in my students by creating, basic, daily routines with limited changes (Savage & Savage, 2010).
The Governing Body, as an employer, takes responsibility for the health and safety of all their pupils, members of staff and others who visit the premises. The setting also implements current health and safety legislation by ensuring that safety equipment is provided for any activity that warrants it. For example; safe use of tools in DT and gloves for handling materials in science. They also state within their policy the following “use the correct tools and equipment appropriate for the job and ensure that they are kept in good condition and not adapted for unauthorised use.” All materials and equipment need to fulfill the recognised standards of safety. The most widely used safety symbol is the kite-mark.
I keep up to date my first aid and that I have a fully stocked first aid box. I make sure accident forms are completed in the event of an accident occurring and that all parents are fully informed, who then sign any forms that need to be filled out. Working with children brings significant duty of care, and younger and more vulnerable the child, the greater the duty of care 1.2 By ensuring risk assessments are being carried out within a setting, also to make sure all equipment and toys are safe, and cater for the appropriate age. By making sure there are no hazards like cleaning materials being left out and all electrical sockets are not being left uncovered, this is to protect any harm to children and young people in my setting. Ensuring the setting is always clean to stop the spread of infection.
Jones and Jones (2008) have compiled a list of basic assumptions about classroom management. The one in particular that aligns with my philosophy is that “Classroom management is first and foremost about creating classroom environments in which all students can feel safe and comfortable and are able to maximize their learning of important social and academic skills.” (p. 29) It is imperative
