Everyone is always searching for the answer to the age old question, ‘what is the meaning of life?’ but they should be asking themselves, ‘what is necessary to live happily and fully in this life?’, which, I think, has a great deal to do with the true meaning of life. Instead of asking why, we should be grateful for what we have and try to make the best out of every possible thing, no matter how big or small, and to enjoy doing it. In order to live in this life, one must be able to respect themselves and everyone or everything around them, take responsibility for their own actions and mistakes, and, most importantly, one must be able to persevere. By simply following these three ‘rules’, one can live happily in this world. Ever since childhood, you have been taught to respect those around you as well as everything that surrounds you, whether it be a pesky spider or your home or even the grass you walk on, but most importantly, you are taught to respect yourself. Without respect for one’s self, one cannot truly respect anyone or anything surrounding them. You must be able to respect your surroundings because every person, every animal, and every plant is connected in some way and each relies on one another to grow and survive. The power to persevere through tough times, to never give up and always try, is the ultimate key to growing as a person. You must always try to reach your goals and never let anyone tell you that you cannot do something or that what you are doing is silly. Persevering allows you to learn what to do in all types of different situations that you might not be comfortable with but knowing how to easily get past those things will make living that much simpler and happier.
