Contrary to his unwavering independence in technique and style Spike Lee has taken on the challenge of film remake. Remaking a movie is always tricky, particularly when the original has an already strong following. The 2013 remake of the Past Chan-wook’s classic, Old Boy had Lee’s critics wondering why he engaged in such a dark film. When Chan-wook’s Old Boy hit theatres in 2003, it was praised for its unique structure, it’s magnificent and action packed fight scenes, and it’s visual flair, making Spike Lee a very bold choice to adapt the film for an American audience. It’s not a shot for shot remake of the original or the 2003 version, but like Chan-wook’s version, it’s graphic so don’t watch this on a fall stomach.
I already talk to him, yelled at him and wrote him up and do not know what else to do with him except take him to see the “Captain””. I knew this guy and knew how to talk to him because I noticed that he likes people to talk to him as he would talk to them, so I turned around and told the supervisors that he was doing good for a while because I talked to him. At that time they instructed me to talk to, so I did as I was told and he changed his ways once again. This guy listened to me because I listened to him. I asked him what was going on with him and is anything was bothering, which I knew it was because I could see it in his face.
You can tell he knew his material because he spent more time giving eye contact and less time looking at his note cards/TelePrompter. The constant energy that Obama had made it hard not to be interested in what he was saying. He didn't really stumble on any words, and that shows that he wasn't too much nervousness if there was any at all. The audience was very attentive. the audience received the message and gave feedback via applause or head nod etc.
Will is sarcastic but he lets it roll off him. A lot of small talk happens. Will scouts his office which is obvious that Shaun’s life experiences are around the room. Shaun is sarcastic back at will. You can tell Will is familiar with this type of “southie” talk.
Short story to Film Compare and Contrast The Killers vs. It had to be Murder Short story to Film A film adaptation consists of a derivative work such as a novel or play that is then integrated and turned into a screenplay for a short or major motion picture film. In a novel characters can be build up upon incidents and dramatizations that can be familiarized and spoken to the readers. Two world renown short stories, “The Killers,” by Ernest Hemingway and “It had to be Murder,” by Cornell Woolrich, are original novels that were later then adapted into major motion pictures.
Andrew Gallant M. Stacey AP English 12 18 October 2014 Bullet in the Brain “Bullet in the Brain” by Tobias Wolf is a short story that discusses the nature of desensitivity of mankind. This theme is further explained through the use of narration, setting and the character. The narration of this story is the first thing that shows signs of the theme being about desensitivity. To start off, the title “Bullet in the Brain” is a very ironic title. After reading the story, one might suggest that Nabokov was referring to the main character Anders, saying that bullet in the brain is what he needed to be less critical about life and be more like society should be compared to the negative personality he has developed over the years.
He talked about being invited as an honorary professor, and kept it all very short – just enough to introduce his audience to him, and move on to the meat of the speech. The President of the humble United States had started out by putting himself in the role of "professor" giving a short lecture to his students. That set the tone for the audience. It told them that he was going to teach them about an important topic. It told them to open their minds and pay attention as it also lent to his credibility as a speaker.
Rhetorical Analysis In the wake of the debut of the sequel to a popular action movie “Kick Ass” , actor and star of the sequel Jim Carrey stated that he would began to distance himself from the film. This was his decision in light of the Sandy Hook massacre, coming to the conclusion that because of the graphic nature of the film he could not support it in good conscience. His statements sparked a greater discussion in relation to an argument that has been discussed many times in the past: Whether or not media violence leads to the real thing, This argument was again brought to light by three forensic psychiatrists in a recent two and a half page article in The New York Times. The article took a thorough look at both spectrums of the argument,
One of them is assertion, which he especially used when talking about ‘What is the great issue between the free world and the Communist world?’ He does this to make his audience think about what is right and what is wrong. Because such questions people will not forget about your speech. Furthermore, the use of language brings effectiveness to Kennedy’s speech. In this speech he uses language that is well understandable. He does not make use of plain folks, as the language does not sound very ordinary, but it neither is very difficult to understand.
He did not hear back from them for awhile before he got a phone call that he did get the job and was given a short notice that he was leaving for Arizona to train down there. He said that the training in that academy was really no different than what he has seen with police academies other than they had to look in to more federal laws that what he thought would have with a normal police academy. When it would come time for him to apply for new jobs or to go into another branch he would have to retest for that job like if he was to go from immigrations to a U.S. Marshall. The next thing I asked was that Is there room for advancement and job promotions in this field of work? He said that since there is always jobs opening and new ones being created he defiantly sees room to go into
