Environmental Protection to Shape Economic Development
In the early development of socialism, our country didn’t pay much attention to the issue of environmental protection and savored the bitterness. Now, the government has taken many measures and is implementing the strategy of “sustainable development”. One aspect of the strategy is to develop the economy and take measures to protect the environment at the same time. But in fact, some local government in China still pay more attention to economic development than environmental protection. Because they think the increased GDP will bring more profit to them.
However, green economics is playing a more and more important role in the society. Green Economics establishes the interdependency between economics and ecology. Unlike traditional economics that focuses solely on the financial outcome, green economics presents a broader approach and is characterized by considering the physical and biological contexts of an activity and has a focus on long-term environmental sustainability.
For example, the Yingli Green Energy Co listed its shares on the New York Stock Exchange in 2007. Last summer, when we saw the world cup, we found 2 Chinese characters “英利” in the advertisement board. It is a Chinese solar energy company whose target market is European countries. And this company get lots of profits from the green energy. Since more and more people are aware of the significance of environmental protection, there is quite a big market for green economics. According to the medium of China, Yingli donated 20 million dollars for the world cup in south Africa.
It is environmental protection that shape economic development.
In a word, the whole world are focusing on environmental protection .
