Hesse does agree that individuals who purchase green products do have good objectives. However, she also believes that substituting old things is one of the causing factors of the environmental problems. Overall, Hesse believes that lifestyle change, not buying green products, can make a significant difference to the
They argue the Buy Nothing Day would wake the world to take on the environmental problems that consumerism has created. This argument is flawed. and wrong. Consumerism has created new ways of recycling products and much more. Companies are forced to create safer products for the public to use, and also learn to make better with fewer resources.
Pollution Prevention Melissa D. Byerley ENV 325: Environmental Management Instructor Robin Glenn June 10, 2013 There are a variety of ways to prevent pollution including altering production or manufacturing processes, eliminating waste at the source, promoting the use of non-toxic or less-toxic substances, implementing conservation techniques, reusing materials or items, and population control; which can all work simultaneously for a better world, but issues such as political processes and policies create a hindrance. The many ideas surrounding pollution prevention are quite often simple, but due to economic impacts, these options are not always favorable because worldwide governments want the most successful economy possible, and
Yes, It's the great importante for many company to minimise the impact that their products have on the environment ,but it's totally unacceptable for companies to make false claims. Many consumers think that a lot of companies pretended to be green just to charge higher
Although some stressors cause only minor impacts when acting alone, their cumulative impact may lead to dramatic ecological changes. Climate changes and shifts in ecological conditions could support the spread of pathogens, parasites, and diseases, with potentially serious effects on human health, agriculture, and fisheries. c. Humanity’s natural resource base and thus economic security? We as humans must do our part in protecting what is left of our natural resources and must realize that what we do today will affect the future for the next generations and so on. We have to set up guidelines to secure our environments well-being and follow them in order to save them from becoming extinct and hurting us in the long run, we must reduce our waste and pollution rate and restore as much as we can back to create a well-balanced eco-system to try to place it back to some kind of normalcy to secure human a future access to natural resources.
From the perspective of an environmental pessimist, we are witnessing “the death of birth” while, from the perspective of an environmental optimist, we are well on our way to sustainable development. These two opposing views of looking at the environment are quite prominent in our society. The concept of sustainable development has attracted a great deal of attention in recent years. While in the past, environmentalists have been pointing to the great damage that has been, and is still being, done to the environment. There have been those who have tried to push back with the idea that humans have not been destroying the environment, and the changes that have been taking place in the environment, notably, climate change, are the result of natural causes.
Some believe that it’s not as big a concern as others while some believe we are rapidly destroying the planet. As for my personal thoughts on the issue of human overpopulation; I believe people need to be better educated on birth control and the environmental effects of overpopulation. There is a serious need to correct the air pollution and fossil fuel depletion and my hope is by doing so there will be less of a need for wars in order to gain others natural resources . We also need to find a way to fix the depleting fresh water supply because once it’s gone all living things are going to suffer
However, deforestation effects everyone on a global scale. The loss of species, never to be seen again, is heartbreaking enough, but the loss of entire ecosystems might not effect anyone emotionally but it will affect them physically, with rising water levels, rising temperatures, and the greenhouse effect. By causing local wildlife to relocate into more urban environments, adversely impacting climate change, and negatively contributing to global atmospheric changes, deforestation should be a huge concern, especially for Americans who are typically more educated then the rest of the world. Americans have a responsibility to nature, and should use the education afforded to them by this country to spread awareness on deforestation. As Berlau states in Our Unhealthy Future, “It’s important to do what we can to protect the inhabitants of the environment or the planet...
Many state Environmental Protection Agencies, are taking a closer look at what fracking is doing to the environment in their specific states. Though nothing is going to be perfectly safe, placing standards and following through are the first steps in any process. Companies are starting to see the devastation drilling is causing in communities. Some have taken their own steps to correct environmental issues and are working with environmentalists to keep the planet and those who inhabit it safe. Hopefully the higher standards these companies are implementing will be forced on those who just drill for the money with no respect for our health or environment.
Secondly, recycling system must be developed and finally creating public awareness about cause and impact of public hazard to the environment and human health. Firstly, we should buy environmentally safe products and these should be reasonably priced to be attractive to the average consumer. For example, not many consumers are aware of the existence of biodegradable products and their benefits in cutting down environmental pollution. Furthermore, many consumers who would be interested in buying recycled or environmentally friendly products are put off by the high prices charged for them. As such, there should be more encouragement for consumers to buy environmentally friendly products.. Secondly, used products should not be treated as waste but as valuable resources.
