She also has to keep them all safe and make sure they all get to their grandmother’s house. Dicey also had to make a decision, while they were at there cousin’s house, whether to stay and hope they wouldn’t be split apart, or take some action and make sure she kept the remaining members of the family together. She chose to leave and take her siblings with her. Throughout this book Dicey is weighed down by the pressure of having to make life changing choices for herself and her siblings. 1. Explain the challenge Elizabeth faced in meeting her capacity needs. What should she have considered before moving into the larger facilityInitially, the business operated at a loss. But with time, the business was able to attract new and loyal customers. This growth in itself was a challenge because Elizabeth over estimated the growth capacity of her business.
I strongly do not agree with this quote though. I believe that each person has the ability to speak up for themselves, the ability to choose what they want to do, and the ability to most importantly pick their own future. The main reason to why I do not agree with this quote is because of my three sisters. I have seen each and every one of them, not continue school for different reasons. My oldest sister is now 24 years old, married, and a mother of a 1-year-old boy.
When you break down what a manager means to a business. The manager is so much more than just a manager, their the educator, planner, analyzer, resource and whatever else the company needs to move forward. Whether it’s Amazon, GE or the NBA a manager takes advantage of market inefficiencies or finds previously undiscovered niches. Managers that can take advantage of these findings take on the characteristics of entrepreneurs, however, they are not entrepreneurs because they work to redirect the inputs of existing companies rather than create new forms of product. According to Berri, D. J., Leeds, M. A., Leeds, E. M., & Mondello, M. (2009) Jack Welch, did not create any new financial services, but did transform GE’s focus from manufacturing to financial services at a time when manufacturing was declining.

1. What can a human service professional do to help this family? I think that the most important things are rehabilitation, separate therapy, and home visits. Sophia deserves a stable home and should not be reunited with her mother if she’s unwilling to get help for her substance abuse. I think Sophia and her mother need rehabilitation services in place, to engage with said expectations in place (substance abuse program for mom) therapy for mother and daughter to assist with living skills.
Furthermore, they realized that there was a gap between how the company sees itself and how the customers see the company, they was not providing good value to clients. They also saw that the brand needed to be reinvigorated with a renewed perspective and purpose to reclaim the historical role as advocate for investors. 2) Describe and evaluate the campaign strategy proposed by EURO RSCG. It isn’t that the grandmother is looking out for the safety of her family rather than the fact that she will go to any length to fulfill her desires. The grandmother sees “being a lady” as the most important virtue in life and unlike Weil focuses much of her time on materialistic objects and things like fancy dresses and belonging to a higher social status. Much of O'Connor's story emphasizes the grandmothers materialistic view on the world and how this view eventually hurts her. The grandmother discreetly seeks acknowledgement from others by bragging about her “connections” in Tennessee and a man who used to be her rich suitor through stories she tells to her family as if she has to prove to them she is a lady. Weil says that when you perform an action you should not do it seeking to be crowned hero but because heroism can be performed without desiring to prove to anyone that you have done something good for someone else without them asking.
Without the opposition being available the argument will lack meaning. Bosley presents her opposition effectively and strong. Throughout the article Cindy began to gain confidence towards winning the pageant. “I secretly believed that I stood a better chance … though she had the right name and the right body…” (Bosley 2). In contrast to Cindy’s new found self esteem, her mother seemed to uphold a strong lack of confidence in her daughter and in herself as well.
‘Bend it Like Beckham’ is a very successful, British movie directed by Gurinder Chadha. In deciding whether or not ‘Bend it Like Beckham’ isn’t just an entertaining movie, many points on both side of the argument have to be considered such as the different themes or what were the purpose in making the film. One of the main points that Bend it Like Beckham isn’t just an entertaining movie, is the fact that cultural expectations are shown throughout the movie. Both parents of the two main characters (Jess and Jules) have very strict expectations towards their daughter’s future. Jules’s parents want their daughter to be pretty, feminine, and to eventually marry, whilst, Jess’s parents want their daughter to have fashy jobs, stick to tradition and marry too.
