ENGLISH VS DIALECT
Language is one of the most important aspects of life being used to express inner thoughts, emotions, make sense of complex and abstract thought, to learn to communicate with others needs and wants as well as to establish rules and maintain our culture. However, language has been known to be modified by local variations from all parts of the world. Due to the many variation of language in parts of the world it is sometimes difficult to find appropriate English words to have the same effect. Even though we are known to be more versatile in expressing what we feel or think there are times in which one must be aware of the appropriate time in which to use English derived dialect. Different dialects are formed from the English language however foreigners as well as those who are from the same native tongue find some form of difficulty in understanding the local lingo as we call it. This in itself is enough to cause a communication barrier and is mainly due to the loose grammar, construction of words and sentences, and even the pronunciation of words whereby letters are left out.
Mr. Imbert gifted himself as a special young man since he was exposed to many languages either from his parents or peers. Language is so delicate and needs to be carefully used this is why speech must be modified to suit the different audiences which can be closer of further away from Standard English. With this being said there was a moment of recollection where Mr. Imbert was exposed to British accents through television and cinema where the language was rather simple to understand however, he found it difficult to understand what was being said when he had first hand interaction with...
