The teachers done all kinds of stredegy to engage me on English. As time go by I was not grasping the assignment as quickly as I should have been. Learning how to point out sentence essential and agreements were just another part of English that was getting me prepared for writting skills. After learning several parts of English I started working on establishing a express book to write my thoughts that come to surface in it. Writing in my express book helped me correspond with English in a different way to understand how writing is a way of English taht should be familar.
In speaking to other ELL students whose home language is different, ELL students, use English but due to the students’ limitations in their English proficiency, they expose each other to more broken English I will value the instructional power of a word wall by frequently utilizing, maintaining, and updating it.All too often, secondary educators miss important opportunities to build the literacy skills of all students. This is especially true in
ENSP 703 At the beginning of classes in ENSP 703 I had simple goals that I want to reach, because this subjects it enhancing reading skills to improve writing abilities and improving character. First goal I want to improve my idea how to write and compose an better essay by following the basic pattern in composing essay, because this one is my weaknesses when I composing some essay it’s like a full of troubles that everyone’s cannot understand. Second one I want to improve more confidence in using the English language in daily conversations, because when I talk and speak in English like I said it’s full of troubles and it cannot understand. For the learning in this class, I learn some many skills from our professor that he virtuous when he
Not everyone wants that much help! Teachers, quit making me take notes all the time! There are certain teachers that will grade you on your notes, calling it a participation grade. That has got to be the biggest load of crap I've ever heard! Many kids like myself are blessed with the capability to understand and remember things just by actively participating in the class discussion and listening to their teachers.
So i can say that in this class, ideology impacted me to an extent, but in certain areas, its still undefined for me. Though my education and how i can ideologically apply it to literature is still undefined, I can easily say that i really enjoyed this class. I walked out knowing more than i did when i came in, and it also altered the way i view things such as friends, family, work, religion and so on. I could never study ideology itself and truly be interested but i am very glad that i was given an opportunity to learn that there are other ways of viewing everyday
I knew I could succeed in whatever I wanted to do with my life, but the problem was I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. As students; however, we all process many strengths, mine being that I’m a great reader, but I wasn’t always a great reader. When I was in first grade, I was placed in special education because of my poor reading skills. Now this helped me a lot, by showing me where my weaknesses where in reading. Consequently
It can be easily argued that the choices people make in high school essentially shape the human being that they grow up to be. A passion for literature and reading is included in this generalization. In her essay, I Know Why the Cage Bird Cannot Read, Francine Prose writes about how we are supposed to be introduced to major literary works during high school--and, furthermore, learn to evaluate and understand the language used in them and the connections that we make with it--and how this is being inhibited in an alarming number of schools across the United States. If this is truly the case, then we should all be very concerned about the literacy of our nation, because my own high school English education has been a joke at the best of times.
I’ve always had a hard time turning in any homework and this is the year I need to start doing it. I think by doing these things I will meet my goal of graduating. Another goal I would like to me this year would to improve my essay writing skills. I’ve never had a real hard time with essays but there is always room for improvement. In English this year I will have to
He says that much of this difficulty can be attributed to professors and the way that writing is taught to students, especially individuals who are newly entering the college setting (11). According to Bartholomae, students struggle with adapting to academic discourse and using the commonplaces of the discourse because they must be able to place themselves within the discourse rather than just imitating it, which is a hard thing to learn and an even harder thing to put into practice when most students have no previous experience with the discourse of academics
Being in Mr. Bostwicks class I’ve learned a lot. My grammar has improved. I have learned better study habits and I think I have really grown with my writing abilities. Mr. Bostwick has taught my an easier way to set up my paragraphs. One of Mr. Bostwicks many mantras he has us memorize is something I think really helps me and it goes a little something like this “ words make up phrases and clauses, phrases and clauses makes sentences, sentences makes paragraphs, and paragraphs makes composition.” Altogether I give mister Bostwick my SEAL of approval.
