Some people prefer to work for themselves or own a business. Others prefer to work for an employer. Would you rather be self-employed, work for someone else, or own a business? Use specific reasons to explain your choice. Most people are faced with the choice of either to be self employed or be employed. Some prefer to earn fixed steady income while others prefer flexible working time, the choice of which depends of the person’s preference, desire and risk appetite. People who prefer stable job, steady income and ability to focus on particular job function would choose to be employed. On the other hand, people who are risk takers, prefer multi tasking and desire to have the opportunity to earn more than they are worth, would prefer to be self employed. The choice and preference of being self-employed or working for someone else is dependence on the character of the person and each choice has its benefits and disadvantages. As for me, I would prefer to be self employed. In terms of character, I am an out-going person who prefer not to be bound by strict time schedule when doing a task. This is possible if I am self employed. I could choose to schedule my working hours according to my preference and needs. For example, I could set my own time and choose my travelling time so as not to be caught in rush hour traffic. Such move will save time and travelling expenses. If I could plan my time properly, I may even be able to plan my vacation without the need to apply for leave from anybody. Consequently, I will be able to spend more time with my family. Depending on the nature of the business or work, a self employed can dress casually especially if the self employed need not have to meet clients. Unless he is suppose to meet someone officially, he need not dress for the occasion. This will save him from the need to spend money on attire required by the employer.
