The public must not however get carried away with only the potential harm that these weapons can cause, and must focus instead on the little amount of actual harm and the great benefit we get each day by having them. The facts show that other types and varieties of firearms have contributed to more homicides than assault weapons have. As a matter of fact weapons other than firearms (i.e. knives, cars, and rope) have contributed more to the death toll than assault weapons have. If we are truly concerned about our safety, our right and our duty to protect ourselvesand all that we love and stand for, then we must be able to own and knowledgeably operate the kinds of firearms that will allow us to do just that.
Topic: The increase of gun control legislation decreases civilian safety. Guns are not for everyone. When dealing with guns, it is key to maintain the control on this lethal weapon. Improper use can lead to great consequences but proper gun control can reduce violence and the threat of crime within neighborhoods. Gun control is most worldwide debated topics today.
Lastly, we need guns for protection. People can only get away with shooting at people if nobody is shooting back. In a world where everyone carries around a gun everywhere they go, there would be no mass shootings. Sure, bad people would have guns, but they would be crazy to think of trying to shoot people in public. But even if a mentally ill person did try it, the public would easily overwhelm him or her and there would be no mass shootings.
A crime will always remain a crime no matter when, where, and how it occurred. A crime could easily be committed with a weapon varying not only from a possible firearm, but a golf club as well. It is proven that firearms in today’s society play an overpowering role only for protection services. Many people come to the conclusion that other elements should play a vital role that is just as important as the use of a gun in our society. Many people in our nation today think that the polity on gun control is not strict enough.
The government is ignoring the need to do something about organized crime, so gangs continue to commit illegal deeds. The government of Canada needs to do more to stop and destroy organized crime in Canada because, illicit drugs are becoming more of an issue, financial crime is developing more and more and gang groups continue to enlarge. If the government does not act quickly then organized crime will continue to expand and commit more illegal deeds. Society is affected by organized crime every day. Some may not be aware but it affects things like the taxes you pay, your insurance rates, banking fees, even your safety and health.
The criminals will not hesitate to bring harm or death. This is where owning and having a gun is mandatory. This law was design to keep gun away from criminals but it keep guns at least temporary from the law abiding citizen. This is just one of the many reasons I am against Gun control. The proponents for banning guns, and the defensive use of a gun, cannot show any proof of taking banning guns will slow the crime rate with tighter gun laws.
Analysis Republicans don’t agree with the assault weapon bans. They are suggesting other ways to prevent mass shooting. They believe assault weapons ban is going to encourage more crimes. Instead of banning assault weapons republics are suggesting to find out who has the access to those guns, especially people who are mentally ill. This is a serious concern because it would be impossible to track each and every person who is mentally
But in all reality, if guns weren’t around, people would still find a way to do crazy messed up things to kill people. One can do many things to you with a gun in their hand, from a robbery to a murder. Simply, most Americans are afraid of one another. Besides, are guns really the best protection against others? It is always possible to have a decent alarm system for robberies, to have a dog when outside in the neighborhood or simply learn martial arts for self-protection. Martial arts are created for self defense so why don’t people spend more time learning them instead of wasting their money on a gun which can break or be used against their own will?
Criminals will still find a way to get dangerous weapons like guns. They usually have connections to other people that can provide them with the guns and weapons that they will use to Couse crime execute their crimes. The bottom line is that this law will not stop them from having guns if they are desperate to have them, but that doesn’t mean it won’t make it harder to do so. Assault weapons that our used in the military, are legal to own as citizen. This statement alone just makes me unpleased with the government.
