Language Arts The Eighth Grade Goes to Egypt! A field trip to Egypt would give the eighth grade a new and exciting way to discover and learn facts about Egypt. Imagine walking where King Tut or even Cleopatra once walked. Now imagine going inside one of the ancient pyramids, this would be a great way to learn! A field trip to Egypt will give the eighth grade a new, exciting, learning experience they will never forget. Actually being in Egypt and visiting the historical features first hand will be a huge learning opportunity. What we have seen or read in books will become a reality and help to reinforce what we are learning. Karen Worth, Education Development Center Inc., conducted a study to see what the benefits of a hand on learning approach would be. The results show that the hands on learning approach can create independent thinking and learners. This could potentially increase test scores, enhance classroom participation, and greatly benefit the entire eighth grade class, now, as well as in future years while at ABC School. Not only will the academic opportunity be great for our class, but a field trip to Egypt will be an amazing experience. We will be able to study the culture of the Egyptian people. A trip such as this could enhance many aspects of learning. We will be introduced to new customs, languages, money exchange, and government rules just to mention a few. On our return, we can share all that we have seen and learned with other students. This will be a great experience for us to share our knowledge while benefiting other groups here at our school. In closing, if our class is fortunate enough to have the opportunity to travel to Egypt and experience an awesome trip as well as a great, hands on learning experience. We will then be known as the ABC School International class of 2017! Battle of Kennesaw Mountain M The Battle
