My students will develop a community that respects each other in the classroom as well as out of the classroom. Once these goals have been met I feel that the rest of the year will be smooth sailing! (Gallagher, 1999-2012). In the field of education, good classroom management is essential ( Froyer & Iverson, 1999) . Encouraging and establishing student self-control through a process of promoting positive student achievement and behavior is what every classroom needs.
Once I am in SWAG other students will realize this and might want to achieve like me and try to be in SWAG. While in SWAG I will let younger students know that it doesn't matter what age you are to become a leader. Also, I will become an elite member of SWAG. I have a great GPA and can really speak for the students to make this school better. I could take ideas and listen to the students.
Through those observations, the authors’ states that Millennial’s parents were protective of their safety and supportive of their academics, and extracurricular success. Growing up in a cultural environment of supportive and protective parenting provided the Millennial students with positive qualities, suggested the article. The suggestion indicates that the positive qualities are shown in their participation of several academic, social, and service pursuits. As stated in the article, Millennials’ good qualities, working hard, and being generous replicates an understanding of the Millennials helping others and addressing societal issues. The numerous activities of the Millennials created a structural lifestyle that required schedules and rules to follow and expected to demonstrate academic achievements through standardized testing.
I will create this environment through an engaging curriculum, personable interaction, topic orientated discussions, and group work. Since my license will include an endorsement in Special Education my classroom management will include a focus on flexibility defined as the ability to respond to the moods, emotions and the capabilities of my students on any given day. Meeting the needs of my students, based on their individual need, will be a crucial part of my classroom management structure. I will accomplishment this by promoting self-management and self-efficacy in my students to the best of their abilities. Creating a predictable, consistent, and success-oriented environment will promote self-management in my students by creating, basic, daily routines with limited changes (Savage & Savage, 2010).
Positive relationships enable information to be communicated far more effectively. Working in a school this will benefit pupils when you are dealing with parents or carers as they will be more willing to get involved in the child or young person’s education and care. Building and maintaining positive relationships and effective communication with pupils will help them know and understand what is expected of them and acceptable boundaries. In order to develop positive relationships with children, young people and adults effective communication is vital. To effectively communicate we must: • think consciously (everyone is an individual) • explain (be clear, use appropriate language) • listen actively ( occasional nods and eye contact) • be true to our word (say what you mean, mean what you say) • recall (repeat snippets of what has been said to you) • have empathy (non-bias understanding of others situations) • clarify and question (ask the other party if they understand what you have said ) • body language (your own and reading the other persons) Not putting the above skills into practice will create barriers to effective communication and positive
I would like to show my family that education is very important, because it doesn't only affect you but everyone that is surrounded by you. I would like to set an example for my little sister, and younger cousins, that anything is possible, and that your education sets a path for your future that if you have a bright future you can have a beautiful life. I would also like God to be proud of me as well. Bishop Noll Institute offers a challenging academic environment, I clearly see it in the upperclassmen’s attitudes and the standards that they set for me as a freshman this year. The more I know the better opportunities will come my way in the future.
When promoting positive behaviour in schools there are policies and procedures that all staff need to be aware of. The main policy relating to behaviour will be the behaviour policy but other policies will also have an impact; for example the health and safety policies, adult protection policies and anti-bullying policies. The policies and procedures within my setting relevant to promoting children’s and young people’s positive behaviour are: - Behaviour policy - Code of conduct - Anti-Bullying Behaviour policy: A behaviour policy promotes positive behaviour through developing skills such as self-respect, self-esteem, empathy, negotiation and problem solving. There are many ways staff can help students to develop these skills:
It was now my responsibility to show others how to become leaders. This will make me a better citizen of the United States because I will have the skills to become a leader in my community. My continuing preparation for good citizenship involves the ethical code of conduct: honor. This is something that is not taught in any other class in high school. I expect myself, and others, to be honest, to be cadets with integrity, and to exemplify ethical behavior.
By being part of such a prestigious national society I hope to create great awareness for many causes. Not only would I contribute to the ideas and advancement of this organization but I’d hope to help in the process of executing them as well. The main goals of the society are to promote the four pillars into young students and have them grow onto it resulting in a model high school student. I wish for all students to follow these pillars because they can lead to success as well as betterment of the school and
Allowing teachers to teach beyond the test is what will allow students a much more vivid mind and give them a wide range of knowledge. Education leading to careers is America’s forte and can only get better by allowing students the ability to overcome that pre-determined goal of knowledge this act has placed on our students and teachers.
