In early 1900’s the radio was the main form of media that almost everyone was getting. Owning radio was not pricey. With the invention of radio it became easier for the companies to advertise their products. With the invention of television in the late 1940’ or early 1950’s population had the chance to see the shows with out leaving their home. It also help create TV shows that the whole family will sit and watch it. Magazines were also became popular in the 20th century. There were magazines printed for every type of interests. Internet was not popular when it was created. In the late 1990’s the popularity started to increase and now almost everyone has internet at home or their mobile devices. | How did each development influence American culture? | Radio’s influence on the American culture was big. With the radio everyone was introduced to new family shows, advertisements for new products, listening to sporting event with out being there, and getting the news. Television had bigger influence on the American culture than the radio had. Television introduced moving pictures that the radio did not have. With television you can see the live events like football, baseball, boxing, and concerts with out leaving the house. Compared to our channel line up now there were only few channels to choose from. The shows did not start until it was night time. One of the most popular TV shows was the late night talk shows, and they are still running the same shows now.
