I believe that in writing this book, McBride is establishing the fact that he is very proud of his success and how his mother was key in helping him accomplish it, but most of all, proud of his mother for being who she was. In her letter she provides many instances of sincere and helpful advice, yet does not do so without the use of rhetorical strategies to emphasize her point and persuade her boy to adhere to her strict plan for him. Her acts of persuasion are in no way malicious or ill-fated, as they simply exhibit a classic “mother knows best” attitude in spirit of love and care for her child. In her letter to her son, Abigail Adams uses parental glorification, an appeal to the importance of knowledge, and an appeal to pride in one’s country in order to advise her son toward acts of her will. Abigail is well aware of the heavy regard for herself that she has bred into John, and thus uses this pre-established respect to heighten her own position to inform him.
She shows her children a lot of love and attention and she works hard to be a good mother. Loving, hardworking, and a great parent best describe her. LaRhonda Anderson is a loving person. Today, November 7th, 1962 we are here to bid farewell to a strong, kindhearted, compassionate woman, wife, and mother. She has passed away from bone marrow cancer but that never stopped her heart from touching so many lives. Eleanor was a woman with great sensitivity to the civil rights of all creeds, races, and nations. Her constant work to improve their lives has made her one of the most loved, and one of the most revered women of her generation.
The reader can conclude that Gates really loved his mother and admired her. His mother was very smart and he admired her for that. The “ biggest reason” that he joined the church was because of his mother, and he was glad he did. Strengths to their relationship was their closeness and the love they shared. A weakness to their relationship would be when his mother told him all the time that she was going to die.

Daughter and mother relationships are something so valuable and should be treasured in my opinion. Many young girls admire their mothers, as they are their very first friend. They are each other's confidantes and pals. A mothers duty is to protect their young, and giving birth to a baby girl is a miracle, but then raising a daughter is a whole different miracle.

Next year I know I will miss the comforting feeling I receive when I walk into her classroom. It was an absolute honor to learn and work with Mrs. Perkins. No words can express how grateful I am for all of her hard work and effort. A good teacher is one that helps students to understand difficult concepts, but Mrs. Perkins is a great educator that not only motivates teenagers, but sincerely cares for and helps each of her students. Because of her, I am now able to thoroughly enjoy and understand music.
I made a vow I would help others anyway I could. I now help my church when we have our summer youth camp by tutoring kids in math, science, and social studies. My mother always said helping others in life will make us stronger as individual. That is why I want to become a teacher because I would be able to give back to my community and give kids the education they deserve. Teaching is something I am passionate about doing, I love being able to be there and talk to the kids when they need a shoulder to lean and cry on.
Her jokingly saying that motivated me to stay focus in school so that I can earn accolades and scholarships with the intention that I wouldn’t be a burden financially. God has blessed me to have a full ride to this school, but knowing that it can be taken away, I will do exceedingly what is expected of me to keep it. Ever since my first patients, it has been a natural instinct to care for people who are sick. My family has a long line of women who were nurses, including my mother, grandmothers, and great grandmother who attended Ole Miss and UMMC.
