I think organization would be the main component needed to enhance the role and function of a health care manager. A manager must be organized in order to lead, and in order to lead the manager must plan, which is also organization. In any aspect, a health care manager must stay organized to be able to supervise his or her staff members and work alongside the company to reach the intended goals. An organized manager is more capable of running an organized staff which will always be able to provide better health care and quality to the patients. Organization creates a more peaceful environment for co-workers and holds a positive aspect to it that helps motivate each member to do his or her best work while on the job.
Taking into account the opinions of others and listeneing properly to their input will encourage a healthy team and also give the person involved control of whos and what input they would like in their support. Features of effective team performance, are having the team interacting and empowering each other through discussion and suggestion, this enables the team through meetings and every day events to put ideas forward and develop them to see what works and what does not, as some people believe that they way they do things is the only way which is not the case. There are several challenges’ that can form between developing and established teams, as everyone has their strengths but with that comes some allowable weakness. When these are identified it is my job to nurture strengths and set goals to overcome any weaknesses I do this through observation, meetings, supervision and appraisals. Also through ongoing course work to keep up to date with legislation and any changes to legislation to comply with CQC 3.

Communicating with other staff members ensures effective team working and continuity of care. It also ensures any health and safety issues are recognised and reported. All carers attend hand over at the beginning of each shift and also complete communication books after attending an individual, thereby keeping other staff informed and aware of current situations within the workplace.
This is the reason why we do staff handover meetings at the beginning of each shift, because its an efficient way of getting information across. Which in turn allows the staff joining the shift some insight of what occurred during the earlier shift. Working as a care assistant at Lobswood House I discuss options and choices that are available to the individual to enable them to make informed decision in regards of their care. It helps promote their independence and boost their self-esteem. It is important that staff are able to communicate with the patient effectively, this in turn help promote a healthy relationship between staff and residents as well as improve the support that we offer residents.
P4/D1 Positive working practice enables health and social care workers to meet the specific needs of clients. Each area of work needs to ensure that it meets the needs of all individuals. This means that everyone must have access to all these services regardless of their abilities. Positive working practice becomes a great asset when considering how it can be applied to help those with additional needs. Before this was implemented, it was a common for individuals with additional needs to be expected to fit in with the rest of society.
