The introduction of computers to our family life helps us come together and spend more quality time together. The list can go on, but with all these opportunities we have, we also lose a lot. We lose privacy and security. There are also some greater drawbacks when it comes to the net, like Internet related crimes. My mom and dad both conduct business at home, and I do all my school assignments.
One problem the internet caused stated in the documentary is, it is very hard for parents and authorities to regulate what kids do on the computer. Since the internet is so easy to access via new technologies, authoritative figures just cannot be present with the kids all the time. Another issue the internet has caused reported by the documentary is by it being so addictive, it has taken time away from studying, school work and activities such as reading. This is a problem because education is almost a must in today’s society. However, the documentary fails to acknowledge how the internet has helped kids by providing ways to find answers and acquire research and knowledge.
I mostly go to google for my Math homework. If I can’t solve a solution I’ll search how to solve the certain math equation. While I could have taken the time to brainstorm, what is the question asking me? Nicholas Carr says “What really makes us intelligent isn’t our ability to find lots of information quickly”. Meaning you don’t have to run to google for information, because that doesn’t make you intelligent anyone can run to google for information.
In the 2014 issue of Writ Exit Test, the article “Virtual Reality: The Move to Online Education”, Don Landau argues the point that all educational facilities such as: schools, colleges and universities should convert all of their courses that are learned in a classroom to courses that are online. He claims that students shouldn’t be physically attending classes if there are many advanced technologies such as smartphones, computers and the internet. This is for the reason that these students can just as easily access their courses in the comfort of their own homes. Even though Don Landau claims that there are many advantages of having complete online education, there are many downsides of having online classes. Relying solely on online classes for education would add more work, as opposed attending class on-campus, make students and teachers feel isolated and there would be no need of any extended amount of motivation.
Tevin Hutchinson 11/10/2012 English 102 Technology plays a huge role in our everyday life. I do believe that technology has made our lives easier, but it also has made us more dependent on the technology itself. When using the internet for a dictionary you could easily get distracted. Anyone can put anything on the internet, so what you find might not be accurate. Most people find that looking things up on the internet is distracting because you are already on the web so why not check YouTube for a funny video, or update your status on the social network.
Day by day, they indulge themselves in online games. They spend time to play game more than time use to study. Some students play everyday, and they have to pay a lot for Internet stores. After that, they feel tired, and no money to pay for school, so they
In Rainbows End, children were raised using technology. As a result, technology is a part of them, and it enters into every aspect of their lives. In the novel, people wear technology; they put in contacts that overlay everything they see. These contacts are connected to computers integrated into their clothing, allowing humans to look up information on the Internet and silent message each other without a keyboard. This proposes a constant distraction for children in school.
Technology is a really over-powering thing and a growing epidemic and I feel that it's really taking a tole on young people but at the same time advancing the communication between us. To know that teens are using their phones on average 60 times a day is quiete saddening because there are so many other things you can be doing, such as doing home work, studying and spending time with family.
I am one who does think that I really do dependence on computers and know that I’m not the only one that knows that others are or do depend on computers also and know that people needing computers are growing. electronics are bases on our everday life and I think that our world would crumble because of the very things that we depend on to use these computers. We regulate our lives everyday and I think that we use computers in places like hospitals, to work on cars, airplanes, to create movies, cell phone, tablets, notebooks and so on and so forward . Now in this centry we have them everywhere on everything just in a different style of the set ups. I also think that computers are the definition of control over our civilization, that if we were to lose computers then we would not be able to survive our society would now be so crazy and would break down.
Parents worry more and become overly protective over their children. Having parents that are over protective have children stay inside which leads to being on their computer with their social media, online gaming or whatever they may be doing on the computer. Many youths in America are so obsessed with what people think about them on their social media account that they will post pictures of what people would like just so they can get many likes. Others will even add people that they do not know on their social media account just
