The road not taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler,
Once my teacher told me that literature is what appears to be different every time you read it. At that time of age I could not understand it, but few days ago it really happened to me. Few days back I was tiding up my cupboard and I found some poetry books, I went thoroughly from each of them and I stopped at a page, it was from Robert Frost poetry, the poem was entitled “The road not Taken”. I have read it once or twice in my college days and after three or four years I was again reading it, poem was the same but meaning was totally changed as if I have never gone through it. May be it’s my completely new perspective for things or just a state of mind and situation that I relate that poem to the present scenario of our education system rather I should say the scenario of our education system.
The poem has at least two interpretations, one the confusion in decision making and regression and secondly the individuality. Rather Pakistan is still traveling between two roads without focusing on its goal.
Every year change in examination system confused students and we still do not know which way is more effective, taking exams every year or every two years, teaching of practical subjects or according to the teachings of Islam as laid down in Qur’an and Sunnah.
Education is the most important base of a developed country, and we all...
