Education: a Reflection of Cultural Characteristics of Vietnam and the United States Nowadays, education is always interested in issues and enhancement. In fact, people usually want to study in a foreign country after they graduate from high school, college or university because they think they will have more opportunities to find a job. For example, there are many Vietnamese students who want to study in a foreign country such as the United States, Australia, Singapore, and England because they think these countries have a better education system than Vietnam. Why do they think so? According to Wikipedia in “Education in the United States” (2011),” the students are obtained general knowledge such as mathematic, chemistry, composition best applicable to the high geographic and social mobility by the academic that was designed to provide the students with a terminal degree.” In particular, the students found out that there are so many differences beside similarities between the educational system in Vietnam and the United States, especially in the basic education program. Both systems are interested and focused on education. In fact, education is very important to every country. Most children enter the public education system around ages. Second, both American students and Vietnamese students have to study a total twelve years for basic education from grade one to grade twelve. Furthermore, they have the coed education. Unlike some Middle Eastern countries, they often have strict rules about equality issues. Vietnam and the United States are more comfortable about that. Despite their similarities, there are so many differences between the two countries. The rules and policies in the United Stated are very easy for students. They do not have many rules that make students uncomfortable. However, Vietnamese schools are different.
