Passover may have been to provide the background stage and connect the Jesus’s Sermon on the Bread of Life. The Passover season was also one rich in the symbolism of the unleavened bread (Exodus 12:8-15) Towns 2002. God instituted the feast of ingathering as a special fall harvest for the ancient nation of Israel (Exodus 23:16; 34:22). The Israelites were instructed to bring a tenth of their harvest along with all firstborn animals of their herds and flocks to a specific location for celebration with other families by feasting and sharing their harvest with the needy and less fortunate (Deuteronomy 14:22-27) Walker 2004 Jesus kept the feast of the tabernacles (John 7:2-8, 34-40). Jews still observe this feast today it’s known as the “Sukkot” which derives its name from the Sukkah or temporary dwelling.
Nowadays the traditional festivals are not the signals of the culture and history anymore. There become the tools of the business people who do not have conscience. For New Year, many people chose to go outside to have the New Year eve dinner, and they do not make dumplings any longer. When they go outside, the business people tried to names their dishes with beautiful implied meanings, and then raise the price to earn more money. In the mid-autumn festival, the moon cake became a fancy gift but not a little cake that use for remembering relatives who are far away from the family.

Her mom intended dinner starting on Monday for the next weekend. Since she didn’t drive, her husband took her shopping every Tuesday for all the provisions she needed for the dinner. Availability and freshness of food and herbs determined how long the shopping trip would be.
Singh Song is a first-person love song by a young man about his wife. He manages his father's shop but keeps sneaking upstairs to see her instead. Form and structure As it says in the title, this poem is a song - it has a strong lyrical voice, and depends on rhyme and rhythm, as well as repetition to create a sense of a refrain or chorus. They celebrate New Year’s Eve with barbecues, and fireworks, they also eat a spoonful of lentil for luck, and carry money in their pockets for adventure and riches. They celebrate Easter by having huasos accompany the priests.

Everyone on the island is there by choice; a choice to lead a simplistic, mindful life. We are agriculturally based and grow our own organic food on the island. Every Sunday, a farmer’s market is held for civilians to stock up on necessities. For emergencies, a minimart is open every day of the week.
Traditionally it is the last day that people can indulge before their period of penance or Lent. During Mardi Gras, or carnival, the partiers would eat all the meat, eggs milk and cheese to prepare for the fasting of lent. The festivity incorporates the roots of Louisianans, European, African and Caribbean decent. The carnival itself involves different costumes and that are playful, comical, satirical, grotesque, theatrical, and serious. All of the different displays come together to form a very unique holiday celebration.
Most people barbeque chicken, hotdogs, hamburgers, ribs, and much more, but everyone has king cakes which are only in Louisiana. The smell of the people barbequing is marvelous. Everyone has an abundance of food; therefore no one goes hungry and maybe have enough for leftovers the next day. After everything is over; the floats and eating, people pack their chairs, towels, bags of beads, barbeque pits and head on home after an exhaustive day. When they get home they take the beads out the bags and keep the ones they like and throw the rest in the bag, and the little kids look through the bags to find toys that they can play with.
