Eastside Showdown After watching the documentary on “Eastside Showdown” my initial reaction towards the movie was positive. I gained a lot of insight on the reality of poverty in society. It really showed the struggles of the poor in such an urbanized city. An example of what was so shocking was how to police approached the young gentleman who had picked up a prostitute. The way they were stereotyping the prostitute was quite rude. How they kept saying that the gentleman is going to get disease. That was uncalled for. Their sense of rumor was ridiculous. They did not have to go to the extent of disrespecting the prostitute and the young gentleman. Throughout the documentary, I was impressed how some of the society was taking action to help people who could not afford to eat on a regular basis. It was great to see how the food bank contributed to giving groceries to the less fortunate.
