The event had such a striking impact on the world that it brought communities, 2100 corporations, schools, religious groups, and many others to switch off their lights for one hour. It all started in Sydney, Australia where one city decided to make a difference on the world and make a worldwide contribution in 2008. Earth Hour 2008 is an inspirational and motivational video encouraging people to make a difference in global warming. The thriving and influential video got people from all over to stand up and make a difference in global warming. Climate change is damaging many animal species and has become a huge issue. I feel that our community needs to take a stand and follow this movement to make a difference. Earth Hour’s goal is to try get to millions of people to turn off their lights for one hour to make a difference in the climate. Many animals are suffering and are about to go be instinct from our planet because of climate change. Participation is easy and simple. By turning off your lights for one hour you are switching to a cleaner and safer future for your family and friends. Americans should realize that industrialization, deforestation, and pollution are harming everyone. With the help of family and friends, we can make a difference in our planet. I can be that one person to bring our planet back to life. This movement is a successful way to reduce the use of energy and helps motivate people to turn off their lights.
