Ineffective leadership and low support from Management on a speciality project was identified as the probable trigger that instigated a series of problems at Corwin. During the analysis of the case the author identified several problem areas impacting the effectiveness and efficiency of the company. These problems range from a lack of leadership to people skills, communication and process issues. I analyse these problems under the following headers and also make some recommendations: 1. Malicious attacks can be brought on by disgruntled employees that want to get back at the organization by disrupting the flow of operation which causes financial loss for the company. There attacks can damage security systems immobilizing the networks for days while security teams try to get the system repaired and back to operation. All kinds of data are vulnerable to these types of attacks because they happen within an organization by people that have access to the credentials required to perform malicious attacks. The potential risks for employee negligence can be high too as small employee mistakes can lead to bigger problems down the road. Even though bringing the project management consultant in to outline to the management team the importance of project management functionality was stubbornly agreed upon it proved to be the first and most important step in the company’s change process.
