Passages from the Text Pggg Comments and Questions “lived in Udine and came out this way nearly every day to see how things were going, and things went very badly.” 4 Implying that the King lived in Udine and came out the same way everyday in a speeding car, which probably means that it was very dangerous for the King and he had to move fast. World War I was probably really terrible and that’s why things didn’t look so good. A lot of people were dieing. "I was very glad that the Austrians seemed to want to come back to the town some time, if the war should end, because they did not bombard it to destroy it but only a little in a military way." 5 Saying that the Austrians liked the little and could enjoy the pleasures of life
One car had followed me while I walked all the way from the building to my car and the other two just appeared. I though the car which had followed me should have got the spot, but instead she was cut off by one of the two other cars. She then proceeded to roll down her window and yell an obscenity that her mother definitely would not approve of. In today’s society, swearing has become more prevalent than it was before, and out generation has become immune to the shock value of hearing swear words. In Rick Reilly’s 2006 article “Swearing Off Swearing” for Sports Illustrated, he uses ethos, pathos, and logos to attempt to convince the reader to literally swear off swearing.
Both texting while driving and drinking while driving impair the driver from visual, manual, and cognitive attention from the road. It is by far the most alarming distraction. Texting and driving takes the driver’s eyes from the road for an average of 4.6 seconds, the equivalent at 55 mph of driving the length of an entire football field, blind. Drinking and driving reduces the driver’s the visual of the road by 32%. They both affect ones vision of the road, and make the driver lose concentration.
Railroad crossings are obviously dangerous. The ratio of the aluminum soda can to a car being the same as a car to a train kind of blew my mind. I never really gave much thought to how big a train is and how fast it’s going. It’s sad to think that everyday people who were just in a hurry can be killed just like that, and I’m willing to bet that they don’t even think about what might happen when the trespass onto the train tracks. Even though people still go around them, I’m glad that we have modern barriers like the arms because I feel like I would be less likely to stop if the intersection were just open.
The sky was so clear tonight, the shining stars alone is what led me to Kell’s red Nissan Altima. Using the key to unlock the door, I realised something: I can’t drive. I can’t drive and here I am, trying to steal my kidnapper’s/ex-boyfriend’s car. I hope I don’t crash and die. After a few minutes of bad anxiety I manage to start his car without dying.

Jasmine Zamora Professor Izaquirre English 6015 January 31, 2013 “Love in L.A.” by Dagoberto Gilb Plot: “Love in L.A.” is a story that is set on the streets of Los Angeles in the heat of traffic. Our characters are Jake and Mariana. Ironically, while Jake is sitting in traffic, imagining about all of this freedom that he has, he collides with the car that is in front of him. For Jake it took a fender bender for his freedom to swell up. Even his license plate had “expired so long ago,” that he got one from the junkyard.
The cartoon was found in the comic section of the Gaston Gazette. This an important factor because it is a large scale local publication and many people view it. The idea that the cartoon is trying to convey is that it is just plain dumb to text while driving a car. The cowboy that is obviously texting already looks as though the lights are on but no one is home. In reality everyone should conclude that a real cowboy is not going to use a cell
And he just started out on the road without checking the straps to make sure all the cars wouldn’t move during transportation. But the very back cars straps were loose. Well the truck got about another 20 or so miles down the highway. And a car with a family started riding right behind the Truck not knowing the straps were loose, and they continued down the road for another 5 or so miles the car with the mother and her 9 year old son backed off of the truck because they moved into traffic that was faster so they could have more time to react
Once we actually got out of the White Bear South Campus parking lot we took a new road where not many others were headed thinking to ourselves that there would be much less traffic. To our surprise, there was a profusion of traffic. The problem here is that it has been snowing all day and this made the roads slippery and unsafe. While making our way down the road we saw a gathering of different cars slipping into the snow banks. We of course as teenagers just laughed it away and thought to ourselves ‘learn how to drive dummy’.
