Disadvantages of the educational system in Poland The educational system in Poland has a lot of disadvantages in every sector, starting from kindergarten, going through primary school, gymnasium, secondary school, higher education and ending on adult education. Education plays a great role in creating a strong and powerful nation. It is of a primary importance since the earliest times. The stronger nation, the more educated it was. Nowadays effective education is significant in everyday life and at work. Therefore the problem arouses: how to make the education effective enough that it would help to create well-educated and professional society? What methods and techniques should be used to achieve this? How to improve the educational system in Poland, so that it would serve it purpose? The prime point in major changes is thorough reorganization, which Polish educational system has been undergoing for quite a few years with a poor result so far. Following the Eastern model of education for a long period of time before the fall of Iron Curtain and a lot of changes based on Western models of education didn’t bring satisfying results nor effects in our educational system. After a lot of reforms we are still facing dilemmas common for every sector of education, such as: over-crowded and poorly equipped classes, outdated program of education, unqualified and underpaid staff, accessibility, perpetuating and increasing social inequality. The main problem with educational reforms in Poland is that of applying changes to the top of the system instead of starting them from the bottom. The issue of childcare is not ignored in Poland, but the education system looks at the top: the most important changes are in universities, research and development units, businesses, and not in kindergartens and schools.
