Furthermore, Islam should fear of God so that Joseph in Koran would mention God at first to warn master’s wife. It seems like God in Koran directly tells His people what should do and what should not. People who believe in Koran seem like don’t have much free will than people in bible cause they have to obey what God said. Conclusion: In Hebrew Bible and Koran, the concepts of their gods are that God is the most powerful in the world, but there is something different. In Koran, God has power over all things and people have to abide His words without a doubt.
Since the discovery of Akhenaten and his possessions, there has been great controversy over whether or not he was a religious reformer. Despite the fact that there is conflicting evidence which could imply he was not a religious reformer there is a considerable amount more that justifies that he was. As Amenhotep IV, as Akhenaten was known prior to the reforms, became pharaoh of Egypt, he inherited not only its wealth, but the power in which it held. While being the second born son, Amenhotep grew up being trained as a priest at Heliopolis which introduced him to the concept of Aten and thus possibly created his desire to one day alter the Egyptian religion. However upon the death of his brother, he immediately inherited the throne.
Almost as if he is the God dictates “The great gods proclaimed me and I am the guardian governor, whose scepter is righteous and whose beneficent protection is spread over my city…” One can say that Hammurabi is an extremely religious man who used religion to rule his kingdom. Also as we know, religion was the one and only factor which led the society during that period of time, so plainly claiming to be the god (or king of righteousness) affects people’s certainties. “My words are precious, my wisdom is unrivaled. By the command of Shamash… may I take righteousness to shine forth on the land…” The words are somewhat fearful to the point where it is forceful. By putting religion into what should be political, Hammurabi has made it easier for him to rule over a state with such a strong base of religious
In ancient Egypt the pharaohs were seen as a kind of demi-god. This status as demi god is because the pharaoh was seen as being born from the queen and being fathered by the sun god Ra, making the pharaoh part god. This divinity makes it easier to understand why the ancient Egyptians would go to such
One of the most unique traits of the Egyptians was their architectural innovation for building pyramids. Built as tombs for the pharaohs and the queens, they come in many different shapes and sizes. The pyramid represented the first land to appear at the beginning of time-a hill called
It also gives us a very monotheistic view of God to oppose the idea of many gods or that there is no God. Clearly it is one God created here in Genesis. It also provides us with the beginning of redemptive history for mankind; he fall of man and his need for salvation (NIV 2-3). Summary: Genesis in its Greek meaning means “origins” and the Hebrew word is translated “In the Beginning (Marty 8). Genesis chapter one takes us through the beginning of the universe.
We can also observe that their eyes are wide open which show s that they paid attention to their gods. With the development of religion and evolution of way life it was time to transform the architecture as well, from living in huts made out of straws and clay, it was time to start constructing architectural mysteries which to this day leave great minds puzzled on how these structure were created without the technological developments that we have today. In the picture on the right we see the famous Ziggurat, which used to be the temple of the ancient near eastern civilizations. On looking at this marvel it clearly shows the advance methods they had as the Ziggurat stands tall, with complex design. Not all developments were only physical, but many developments can also be seen at the mental level also, like the way thinking, the people started depicting the power and characteristics of other great people through comparing them to animals like lions, birds,
Of these the pyramids were very notable, according to archaeological evidence; it has been shown that the ancient Mayans began building their characteristic ceremonial structures, known as Mayan Pyramids or Pyramid-Temples, about 3,000 years back. Mayan pyramids, in fact, were built in a wide variety of forms to serve a wide variety of functions, apart from religious ones, according to the customs of each region as well as period. (New World Encyclopedia. Web. 03 Dec. 2009) They also built temples; the temples were impressive and decorated structures themselves.
Depending on locale, family, needs and preferences; the average Egyptian would choose the most suitable deities and build a household shrine for them. There were no formal cults or temples dedicated to these Gods. The state religion is what was practiced by the Pharaoh and the temple priests. The temples built to worship the state Gods were not open to the public. The Pharaoh was thought to have direct access to the Gods - and one of his primary duties was to act as the intermediary between them and the people of Egypt.
One of the theories includes the use of PHI, Golden Mean which is equal to 1.618, in the Great Pyramid (Orcutt). There are some effects of the Great Pyramid on mathematics which includes the use of mathematics in constructing buildings and other structures. The pyramid also made mankind to research more about how it was designed, which led to the theories of how Egyptians used mathematics. The pyramid is highly symmetric and the Egyptians did have knowledge of adding and doubling which I think they applied to the design of the pyramid. It is completely coincidence that the use of the Golden Mean is in the Great Pyramid.
