Differences Between Two Cities

An adage which describes contrast is more general in China. Chinese people like to say:” without comparison, it would not identify things.” I think for most people it is more simple to explain, for me. I am an overseas student, so I realize the comparison easily than others. I have found three main differences between my home city and Seattle. Those differences are the climate, economy and custom. Between this two cities’ differences which make me cannot forget each of them. First, the weather in Xuzhou and the weather in Seattle are similar, because the geography between these cities are similar. My home city is near Nanjing, it is in the middle of China. Because of its geographical position, my home city is a wet area, which receives more rainfall, which is divided evenly over the year. Every year my home city’s yearly precipitation is over four hundred millimeter. Xuzhou is a city which is close to Yangcheng Lake and has one river across named Yunlong River. In other hand, as everyone knows Seattle is a place near the Pacific Ocean, so it is a humid city and people call it the Rainy City or Emerald City. When I came to Seattle at first time, it was rainy and wet. However, even I have lived in Xuzhou for 17 years, I can’t accommodate the the rain In Seattle continued raining over four months. Second, the economy in Xuzhou is not as same as the economy in Seattle. My home city is in the middle of China, but the most common thing is the river. For this reason my home city’s economic strength as same as the middle part of China or a coastal area. Even so, my home city’s average personal income has increased rapidly in the last five years by the mineral products. In another hand, before I came to Seattle I know Seattle, which is a coastal area, is famous of Microsoft, Boeing Co and Starbucks. Each of them is the pillar of the Seattle economy. In sum,
