Differences Between College Students and High School Students

Student’s Priority College students and high school students will have different type of learning styles. The learning styles of these students depend mostly on their cognitive ability and how the brain processes information. There are three different types of learning styles that are unique to each individual. An individual may be a kinetic leaner, auditory learner, or a visual learner. The learning style of an individual at the high school and college level is very different. The rules and regulations that is imposed at the high school level is very strict than those imposed at the college level. At the high school level students cannot leave campus as desired, while at college level you can leave at any time. At the high school level attendance is mandatory peer group pressure is more prevalent, while at the college level you just attend class based on your schedule, and you are more mature focused and determined to achieve your goal in life than when you are at the high school level. Attendance policy varies at the high school and college level. When high school students arrive at school in the morning they cannot leave campus until dismissal time which is 2:45 pm as mandated in the School Board of Broward County(SBBC) code of conduct that each parents have to sign and return during the first week of school. The dismissal time may vary depending on the school the teenager attends. If they leave school early it would be considered “skipping” and the cops can arrest them and bring them back to school because accordingly to state law the school is responsible for them. The parent or guardian can sign them out to leave school early but this has to be completed before 2pm each day. The school does not give walk home pass to any student anymore for them to leave campus. They will be held accountable if anything happen to them. Attendance at the high school
