Section1 & 2 In the beginning, a furious and crazy dictating monster was heard growling impatiently. Everyday music was playing about “The ancient beginnings of us all” (Raffle, 21). Hrothgar’s men lived in a great friendly environment until the mean and Evil monster; Grendel came and haunted the warriors. He was conceiving by a pair of monsters, who were the blame for the death of Abel. The almighty kept the demons out, but soon split into different forms of evil.
Dante’s Inferno In today’s society, everyone rationalizes their sins. No one wants to believe that what they do in their everyday lives is morally wrong. Dante, throughout his Inferno, describes what he believes hell to be. He travels through each circle, seeing the souls that committed sins. At the end, Dante comes to the final circle of hell to see Satan’s three heads perpetually chewing on Brutus, Cassius, and Judas, the three great traitors.
When Jack is not accepted by all of the boys as the new leader he becomes angry and violent against those who disagree with him. However, on the day of the great controversy all was revealed that Satan was the true deceiver and God was indeed to be worshipped. On that final day Satan persistent as he has always been he tries to still rally a final assault against God and the saints who accepted him. Even when Satan gathers all the wicked who where powerful in battle (before their death) he still cannot defeat God and his army. When God appears from the holy city he wipes out who are with Satan with a holy fire from heaven. After the second death the earth is destroyed free of all sin and then lord replenishes the earth and it becomes the New Jerusalem.

Taylor Davis Mr. Brumback Language Arts April 20, 2009 The McGill The villain is the most hated character in every novel. Sometimes the villain can be anyone from a criminal to a monster. In the captivating novel Everlost by Neal Shusterman there is a monster named the McGill. The McGill roams Everlost in search of souls to work for him on his ship. To get to Everlost you have to be off track going to the place that you were supposed to go after your life had ended.
Grendel is described as being completely inhuman, a ferocious beast that has no capacity to think or act rationally, and is instead driven to destroy and feed on human flesh. When introducing the ravenous demon, the poem states, “Grendel was the name of the grim demon haunting the marches…he had dwelt for a time in misery among the banished monsters, Cain’s clan, whom the Creator had outlawed and condemned as outcasts. For the killing of Abel….” It is no wonder then that the Christian scribes had this disgusting creature symbolically descend from Cain, the first murderer on Earth. And while Adam and Eve are the first sinners, thus passing on the sin to their offspring as well as to the thousands of generations to come, Cain was the first to sin on his own, murdering his own brother in cold blood due to an act of jealousy. Grendel’s blood is completely tainted with Cain’s sin, as well as his own, thus symbolizing all that is evil in this world.
In the epic poem, the great hero Beowulf sets out to kill the supposed demon Grendel, who everyone widely views as one of the most evil beings to walk the Earth. But why, exactly, is Grendel viewed as evil? Some people argue that it is because Grendel kills people. Although that does make sense, in this story, it doesn't. Almost everyone in this story kills people.
His concealment causes his obsession, a lack of preventative measures against the creature, and his fear of appearing to be mad. The nature of Victor Frankenstein secret derives from pride and the prevention of humiliation. Frankenstein discreetly gives life to a being in an attempt to escape what seemed to be inevitable; death. This hidden creation ultimately turns into a deranged monster who successfully seeks vengeance on Frankenstein and his family. Following Atari was Nintendo and Sega. Video games were seen as entertainment for children and families. As technology improved, so did the realism of the graphics and game play. This also initiated controversial debates of life-like video game violence, perhaps best exemplified by the violent and graphic Mortal Kombat fighting game from Midway. Mortal Kombat characters partook in some incredibly violent maneuvers, including decapitation and hearts being ripped out of chests.
