These actions and words are expounded on C. Wright Mills thoughts. As I am writing this essay I will be answering and explaining the following questions: What does C. Wright Mills mean when he describes sociology as “the intersection of biography and history”? What is the relationship between personal life and larger social structures? Are personal lives determined by social structures? Last but not least, I would like to give examples and give my point of view on the word sociology, such as what does it mean to me!

Role of a Mental Health Counselor The role of a counselor as a social advocate has been discussed in literature since the late 1800’s (Smith, Reynolds, & Rovnak, 2009). Social justice advocacy in counseling promotes the ideas of speaking for those who are underrepresented and works to eliminate systems that encourage discrimination and violate human rights (Smith et al., 2009). In the required reading, Moe (2010) states that there is a push to inject a social advocacy role into counseling to help with oppression of minority populations. In this paper, there will be the discussion of: how I see my role as it relates to advocacy and consultation, do I see consultation and advocacy as similar or different, how advocacy benefits the care provided to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families related to the specific specialty area that I plan to practice. Lastly, I will create a hypothetical situation of a child, adolescent, adult, couple, or family and address how counselors' knowledge of consultation and advocacy could interact with the progression of their counseling experience based on my area of specialization.
This essay will focus on inter-professional working in health and social care delivery. The history of inter-professional working will be explored. The nature and types of evidence underpinning inter-professional working focusing on the practice area of protection of vulnerable adults will be discussed. The range of factors that promote and create barriers to inter-professional working will be discussed. The implications of this essay will be discussed in relation to my future practice as a qualified Social Worker as a member of an inter-professional team.

Some statistics show more than 87,000 Americans aged 65 and older - mainly men - are being hospitalized each year for alcoholism, a rate similar to that for heart attacks, say Milwaukee researchers. In a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, they say drinking problems evidently do not decline with age. Hospital admissions related to alcohol were 54.7 per 10,000 for retired men and 14.8 per 10,000 for women. (1) The problems surrounded around alcoholism in the elderly are as many as 3 million Americans over age 60 are alcoholics or have a drinking problem, according to the AMA, Chicago. Alcohol abuse is frequently overlooked in the elderly because they often are cut off from the outside world.
