It was a Sunday morning when I decided to walk across the street from my house to the beach. I felt deeply alive on that cool day, sipping my coffee with the warm sun beaming on my face. The air was clean and seemed like food as I took in each breath like it was good for my spirit. The sound of the waves was melodic in nature as they rolled up gently against the shoreline. The clouds were perfectly pillowed without a hint of grey in color, and the sky more blue than usual which provided the ultimate backdrop. As I looked around in observance, I could not help but to reflect more on the sky than anything else. I began to think to myself “What exactly are you capable of achieving? What is a realistic expectation for your life and what constitutes impossible? Is there a limit to how high I should aim?” The simple answer to these questions is simply that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to; if you can think it, then it’s a realistic expectation; and you can aim as high as you want. I can remember all through my years there were a few sayings on posters that kept showing up in my life, sayings such as “The Golden Rule” or inspirational sayings such as “The sky’s the limit”. Being just a kid, I did not realize the true significance of these sayings. Before I was a truly accomplished individual, I just lived day by day without any definite goals in mind. Once I started believing more in myself, I had higher and higher aspirations for myself. Once I started believing in the possibilities, I was able to use the creativity of my mind to help me choose the life I live, or better put by Henry Ford, “I am the controller of my own destiny.” With persistence and belief in myself, I can aim for the stars. The answer to any problem or current dilemma is in each of us. It’s buried deep in the mind, and we must call on the creativity of the human mind to help us
