Asssamualaikum and hello everyone, i am... and today I am going to teach you how to play Sicilian Defence variations in chess. Did you guys know that chess develops intelligence, self-control, analytic skills and increased ability to concentrate? So , lets play chess How does the chess variations today that I am going to teach you will benefit you?, okay, for one, you might be needing these steps to accompany you during any chess tournament held in the future. There are a lot of chess competitions being held nowadays by our local universities, companies, and even chess clubs from each states itself. Who knows you might turn to be a champion one day. Before I begin today, I would love to share my experience during my time as a chess player. I have played in UPSI(university Pendidikan Sultan Idris) Open when I was in form 4. During that tourney, I started trying and experimenting this Sicilian defence variation. And the result was satisfying with 3 out of 4 wins as a black. I hope that you could gain the same benefit too with or without the same way. Now that we know the introduction, lets move on to the real game. For the first one, we will see the board from the perspective of a black chess player because Sicilian is done by the black player. The opening starts with white playing the e4 pawn which is pawn on original position which is on square e2 to square e4. Okay, to make this a Sicilian defence variation, black must move c5 where the pawns original position is in c7 square. This is the best defence against white’s opening e4.By playing e4, black is actually elimination white’s move d4. Why? If white plays d4, black could capture white’s pawn on d4 freely by using pawn c5 thus controlling the centre. Now that we have covered the opening, the base that makes this play a Sicilian defense, let’s move on to the first variation that was led by this opening.
