Nowadays the death penalty is used rarely and it’s forbidden in the most of the countries. So it should be unnecessary, but there are some countries which execute death penalty and a lot of people support it.
Murderers should have lifetime imprisonment or death penalty, so they couldn’t harm other people. Sometimes death penalty can replace lifetime imprisonment, because, in my opinion, it’s faster, less tormenting and society maintains the killer. The retribution should be just and suit the crime, so murderers should have capital punishment. It could also be a little comfort for the victim’s friends and relatives, because they have suffered a lot. This punishment is the best tool against planned murders, because fear from death might hold back the criminal from a murdering, so death penalty could save innocent people from death.
Everyone has the right to life, but death penalty breaks it. Death penalty encourages violence and it isn’t right, because condemning to death is used to show that killing is wrong. Court can’t always know if murderer can or can’t become better and feel sorry about his crime, so people, who could become better, may not have an opportunity to prove it. If capital penalty is unfair then it can’t be fixed and judge is partly guilty in a murdering.
So death penalty is good alternative for lifetime imprisonment, it’s quite normal punishment for murdering and it can save innocent people, but it isn’t right and can be unjust. That’s why I think that death penalty can be used in some very cruel crimes, but with great care.
