The five stages experienced by a dying person are denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Ivan Ilych experiences all of these stages before his death. The first stage of death is denial. Denial is a defense mechanism in which a person is faced with a fact that is too painful to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence. Ivan Ilych experiences this stage when he realizes that his condition is much worse than he wants to believe.
Kim thought that since he was a doctor there he could get special treatment. Kim’s actions to the woman at the front start to make his ex-wife worry about his temper. With Kim’s reactions of him being impatient doesn’t really help him or Becky when he was in the room with Dr. Morgan. When he went to talk to Dr. Morgan he couldn’t control his temper “what the hell is it Dr. Morgan (Kim spat 56)”. Kim not thinking of his actions gets him into more trouble.
Daniel Pelka; The four-year-old boy who was starved and beaten to death in March 2012 by his mother and step father. Winterbourne View; The abuse of patients in a Bristol hospital for people diagnosed with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health issues. I have chosen Winterbourne view for my assignment as at that time I myself had just begun a career in Health care and watched the programme from a carer’s point of view. In 2011, the BBC’s Panorama investigation brought to the public’s attention the prolonged and sustained physical and psychological abuse by some Winterbourne View staff towards their patients. These patients, many of whom were vulnerable and unable to convey their mistreatment to others outside of the hospital such as the Police, Social Services or the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Although Marie has a serious cold, she also uses her weak voice to protest being checked by Uncle Hayden alone. From these few words, readers can feel the intense fear and panic from Marie and know that Uncle Hayden is an indecent rapist. Besides, by the end of Chapter 1, I really confuse about the Mr. Hayden`s attitude. After David`s mother tells this father all the things, he waits for his father to explode, but, instead, his father said as quietly as before: “Why are you telling me this?” (36:4). Although I know that Dr. Hayden is David`s father`s brother, I consider that in front of justice and brother`s relationship, I will prefer to choose justice.
During the reporters first days there he found that some of the staff ,as a first resort restrained the patients. They were left to sit and watch tv or sleep in their rooms, no real activities took place. However what the reporter witnessed on a daily basis was very disturbing, hitting, slapping, bullying, dousing with water, cruel and pointless use of restraint on vulnerable people , alot with a child like view of the world. Some of the patients were like a plaything for the staff to taunt. The failure by nearly all the staff to care for these people is undeniably overwhelming, even if some staff did not take part, they witnessed it and said nothing.

Sociologically, grieving within families is not an easy task. Each family member reacts to death differently and forces family members to make changes in their lives in order to adjust to life without this family member. Raney and Charles had a hard time accepting the suicide of Uncle Nate. When Charles voiced his opinion that Uncle Nate was clearly depressed, obsessive-compulsive, and crippled from his life experiences, thus needing psychological help in order to heal, Raney took it as an insult. In Raney’s mind, Charles was placing blame on her, her family, and specifically, her mother who spent most of her time taking care of Uncle Nate.
