If at any point they failed, they would see this as a big mistake and give up and have a lack of motivation. It can also be argued that working class children do not get the support of their parents, this is because many of the parents believe that they survived without an education, so believe that there children can do the same. Working class families can also lack in support in terms of if the child fails a particular exam, they would not give them positive feed back on how they could improve they would improve. Whereas, it can be argued that higher class families have more motivation and the parents also give the support to the children that is needed. This would have a positive influence on the child’s education as it would give them hope and not give them an opportunity of giving up.
Task 3: Describe with examples the kinds of influences that affect children and young people`s development including: a) background b) health c) environment a) Some children don`t experience a lot of support at home. Parents/Carers use the TV or Computer as a “babysitter” and don`t spend a lot of quality time with their children. Those children will fall behind in their development. Children need interactions with adults and other children to learn social and language skills. On the other hand there are parents that are very protective over their children.
Overall, I believe that home-schooling is not in the best interests of the child due to the fact that not every parent is qualified to be an educational teacher, that it creates time and financial restraints on the family, and that home-schooling leaves the child socially unprepared for teen and adult life. Let’s face it, there are some types of parents who do not have the skills or understanding
Extending the school day may do more harm than good. Secondly, a major reason why the school day should not be extended two hours for students to get help on their homework is simply because of the fact that they do not all need it. Many kids like to work at their own pace and should have the option of getting help or not. Kids that need help go to after school tutorial, but the school should not enforce that all students must stay longer. Another reason to support this idea is because students do not always need two hours to do their homework.
‘Discuss the effects of day care on children’s social development.’ Day care is a form of temporary care which isn’t given by a family member or someone known to the child. There are many forms of day care but the two main ones are child minding and a nursery environment. The effects of a child’s social development whilst in day care is a subject which has come to no firm conclusions as there has been mixed results from the experiments and each individual has their own opinions of day care. Some people argue that day care is a positive part in a child’s social development as they believe children will become more responsible and independent whereas other people disagree and believe that day care has negative effects on a child’s social development in ways that it’s a mothers responsibility to care for the child until it reaches school age and the quality of care may not be great due to a possible high staff turnover. People also think that it could lead to an insecure attachment and lead to psychological effects on the child later in life.
Although home educations provide privileges to parents and children, some may appear as for granted benefits to those who are getting their education at schools. Some people are supporting the idea that home education would save transportation costs and time wasted in going to and getting back from schools, however this is no more a problem, because in every neighborhood, many schools are being established that would satisfy the needs of a large scale of parents. Others would prefer home education for children who are facing social problems being in a public place among strangers, however
For a parent trying to work full time and go to school while still providing for their family, daycare is just too big of an expense. In some cases these students get lower grades and a lower GPA because they have to work and take care of their child. There are a few ways to solve the problem of finding affordable, reliable child care services for students. Solutions range from offering childcare services to students with financial aid to using empty or currently unused spaces on the premises or otherwise owned by the company or campus as the location for the daycare to be held to using recreational funding to back the necessary costs of food and start up fees. With the ever growing population of students needing daycare, many community colleges, like Wake Tech Community College in North
“(These) values pass on mother-to-mother combine with the natural instincts to love, support and nurture.” If a person was raised spending most of the time on the things that were being bad influence for them such as wrestling or teen’s reality show or their parents were too busy working and did not have enough time to check if they were keeping up with the homework and reading. It is pretty obvious that the child is going to have a great amount of difficulty as they grow up. I agree that raising children is not an easy job but if I was raised in a very bad way and thought my parents did not put enough effort in my upbringing I would not want my children to think the same about me and go through the same rough path of life as I did. Childhood is what makes a child’s base and it is important to pay close attention to their childhood and teach them the difference between good and bad. So, when they grow up they will not have any problem in picking the right path.
Daycare is an essential issue in child Psychology as there is a debate regarding whether it is positive for development as it offers stimulation or whether it is detrimental as it takes children away from their natural caregiver. Daycare is a situation where a child is cares for by someone other than its parents for some part of the day. It can vary from short-term care in a crèche to full-time care in a nursery. Belsky is a critic of daycare and used the strange situation to determine the impact that intensive daycare has on early childhood attachment. He found that early and intensive daycare results in children being insecurely attached than children where the onset was later and less intensive.
These flawed parenting skills become inconsistent and the parents tend to be non-supportive of their children. When parents are working in the household, children are influenced. Parents with adequate amounts of money are more likely to show more affection and warmth when raising
