Below is an essay on "Cyber Ethics" from Anti Essays, your source for research papers, essays, and term paper examples.

A Code of Ethics is a set of guidelines on how professionals should interact with one another and make moral judgment calls. Being ethical helps to maintain employment and therefore boosts ones credibility. The reverse is also possible. Making unethical decisions can deteriorate your credibility. Credibility is established when your portfolio matches your knowledge, skills, and abilities. Let me explain, if I was hired as a parent educator for a foster care agency to help parents learn to properly care for their children, my resume and portfolio would say I am capable of such a responsibility. However, if my performance and actual knowledge wasn’t up to par to perform the tasks necessary, my credibility would be damaged as a professional in that field. It would be unethical of me to do this. Once credibility is lost from unethical actions it is extremely hard and near impossible to regain.
It is important to maintain a good and honest reputation.   Having good ethics helps others determine your integrity, capability, dignity, and worth. Letting my good ethics influence my decision making while creating this portfolio will help ensure it is of high quality and accurately depicts my experience and growth.   More opportunities to advance in my field will come from doing this and therefore I can continue on in my career and look forward to a successful future. By accurately portraying myself in my portfolio it will help potential employers determine where I can be of good use in their company and give me a position that I can flourish in.   Companies like to verify content displayed within a portfolio and hold you to their code of ethics; this is done by providing references and letters of recommendation. Understanding and abiding by a code of ethics is of great significance and a matter of professionalism.
